I didn't know you take sign language; that's really cool.

I'm writing a paper and I've *so creatively* titled it "Comparative Case Reviews of Types of Dispute-Settlement Procedures." I'm sure it'll be a thrilling read.

oh dear goodness

yeah i would love to be able to actually use sign language and I wish it was more widely known. Can you imagine? Besides just being inclusive of the Deaf community, it can be used for all kinds of things.

@Galli Yeah, that's true. I can read Braille and that's been useful in several situations, funny enough. I can see how sign language would be even more useful for people with sight, for both those who can't speak and those who can.

Aimless Gallivanter

in what situation is Braille useful?

@Aimless Gallivanter To show off the fact you know Braille ;) Or if you're in some field in which you're dealing with blind people.

Haha firstly, when I was on campus in Istanbul, they brilliantly had half of the signs in Braille and half of the signs in Turkish, never a sign with a mixture of the two, and they always spaced the signs far apart. Thankfully, the Braille read in English (it was a Turkish university that taught in English and all students were bilingual, so maybe it made sense to whomever put the signs up?), but I was glad at the time that I could recognize numbers and words before I learned basic Turkish or my way around. On my campus here in the States, many signs tend to forgo words, opting instead for symbols or unclear stick-figure-like diagrams, but the Braille always has clear instructions. I don't know why they don't just put the words that are in Braille in English, too, but they usually don't. I first taught myself Braille when I was really bored in class and I'd already learned Morse code, so that was the next thing I decided to entertain myself with. I've kept it to myself, though, and really no one knows I can read it. No one would be impressed by it, anyway, but I'm glad I know it. It's also useful for writing things that you don't want other people to be able to read, but usually I use the RHOR script from Triss for that....
And what Skarzs said, too, if there were Walmarts around here, but there aren't.

Am I a bad person?
The worst we have ever seen you do is withhold details from us about V. Because of that, you're definitely a bad person!

;D ;D
Dreams, dreams are untapped and writhing. How much more real are dreams than that paltry existence which we now call reality? How shall we ascend to that which humanity is destined? By mastering the dreamworld of course. That is how, my pupils, that is how.

*Wonders how Head's German assignment went*

I found this pretty funny. So I'm really sick right now but went in to work to cover someone for a couple hours. We have a Starbucks at work, and I'm on really good terms with the management and staff there. All employees in the building get Starbucks half off, but they never charge me at all. So when the assistant manager greeted me in the hallway, I waved and tried to say hi back, but I don't have a voice and ended up just coughing instead. While I was working, he came out to me and gave me a large, hot cup of tea with honey and told me to get better. It happened right in front of the manager on duty, my female coworker, who went, "What's up with this enchantment you have over the guys at Starbucks? Not only do you get it free, but they freaking hand deliver it to you? All I get are the creepy guys at the Mediterranean restaurant downstairs, but you have the Starbucks baristas wrapped around your fingers!" She went on like that in humourous indignation for a while. :D The tea is really good and is helping my sore throat a lot.
