I give up. By this reasoning, they're a snake that isn't an adder, but the only examples of non-adder snakes are from Mossflower and Doomwyte. If they aren't from Doomwyte, then it has to be Deathcale from Mosslower, except Redwall didn't exist in Mossflower. Kudos, Inquisitor, you've trumped me!
