While it is true that strangling can be inefficient at times, it does have its advantages. Strangling is a more slow and painful way to die so if you want your victim to suffer, that can be a better way to do it, plus you don't need to buy, and carry, a gun. All you need is your hands and they aren't so cumbersome, or expensive, plus you can bring them on a plane.

I'm still not sure where you're getting that from.  Eb was totally on board for your wedding, I'd think you'd want revenge.  (Though I still don't see how being married to me could be seen as a bad thing, but that's a different matter  )

Getting out of a standing front strangle is surprisingly easy, even if you have your back against a wall.  It's just a highly inefficient way of doing things, really.
