How would you live?

In a sort of spin on the question "Where would you live?" within the Redwall world, I'm curious about the kind of lifestyle you'd prefer to live.  This includes, but isn't limited to:

Settled/Agrarian - though not always the same, the settled/agrarian life involves having a lifestyle or trade that permits you to have a permanent place to call home (farmers, woodlanders, Abbeydwellers, sparrows, Jukka's squirrels, Peace Island hedgehogs, Green Isle otters, Luke's tribe, King Gael and Queen Serena)
Nomadic/Roving - always traveling from place to place, making camp from anywhere from a night to a season (Guosim, Juska, Russa Nodrey, Bragoon and Saro, most otters, some vermin hordes)
Marine - making your home on or near the sea, this can be a nomadic or settled lifestyle with the difference being an emphasis on the water supporting this lifestyle (pirates/corsairs, fishers, sea otters)
Militaristic - having a permanent home that you leave regularly and/or when the situation calls for it, this differs slightly from the settled lifestyle in that it supports soldiers and utilizes the surrounding environment for strategic purposes more than agricultural purposes (Salamandastron hares, many vermin hordes)

If you can think of other ways of living in the series that don't fit in these broad categories, share!  And discuss, does the lifestyle of your "fursona" match up with the lifestyle you'd most like to have?

Marine maybe. The idea calls to me.

I like the idea of a Nomadic existence. Especially in such a closed off world like Mossflower where there are new things to be discovered daily. That of course would also depend on your movement style, and travel direction. Like the Guosim who spend their days on the waterways, or the Jangular family which wanders the woodlands, they would come across different adventures, dangers, ect.

I think I would prefer and more tribal existence like the Guosim, I enjoy a good brawl and their culture is, for lack of a better term, like me. It also instills a great sense of protection and tribal unity, not to mention something to stand for.

I'm also going to have to say nomadic/roving, but not exactly the Guosim...
I dunno, it just sounds right. ;)

As for that fursona question...You mean our main Redwall character, right? Our...Redwall-sona? Otherwise they might not fit with the world. XD

Oh no, I have too many! ;D
I think I'm going to have to go with my character Scartooth for this, and he lives at Redwall. owo

Captain Tammo

I like the idea of being a wanderer with someone, but realistically, I think a marine life would be better :) There's something about the sea that screams adventure to me...

Roving! So much peace, and no one for you to annoy or to be annoyed with generally! ;D
Dreams, dreams are untapped and writhing. How much more real are dreams than that paltry existence which we now call reality? How shall we ascend to that which humanity is destined? By mastering the dreamworld of course. That is how, my pupils, that is how.

Unless you're roving with a group of friends...

In theory (read: a world with no travel fatigue, dangerous animals or deadly diseases), I'd be a nomadic/roving vagabond. In reality, I would probably be a member of a settled/agrarian or marine community.

The Skarzs

Well, I'd probably wander a bit looking for a place to set up residence, if one is not there already. Preferably it would be where other creatures are, where a trade system of some kind will allow me to help support myself and others, as well as the community helping its own members. If one is nomadic, finding food will be harder unless you can come across others who can give you grown products, because living off what you find isn't going to keep you going for very long. Eventually some form of agriculture must be done, and in the case of people who move from place to place, they would probably stay in one place for a few years before moving on.

I'd definitely go with the more Nomadic life. I'd like nothing more than to travel the land and face new dangers and adventures everyday. The thrill of traveling is something I always wanted to experience, and it would be even better in the Redwall world. Staying in one place forever is too boring and casual.
Just pretend there is something interesting and unique written here... I have nothing to say.

I'd enjoy the nomadic/roving life, at least during my youth and middle years.  I can't stand to be in the same place for too long; there's far too much to see and do.  In the Redwall world, I'd have to support myself by hunting and scavenging my own food and trading where I can, but it'd be possible.  I wouldn't want to have to rely on the hospitality of others for more than an infrequent stay at the Abbey, Noonvale, or elsewhere, and I'd find someway to be useful and pay it back.  I'd love to have connections all over the map and to accompany other travelers from one place to another, though mostly, I've found I prefer to travel by myself and seek company when I choose to.  That'd be the life for me.

Probably militaristic, so long as I was in the Long Patrol; it seems like the best of all worlds. In most cases, there would still be plenty of opportunities for adventure and exploring (like being a nomad except with more purpose). There would still be a place to call home, though, and if I ever wanted to dabble in the marine option, well, there's a whole ocean nearby :P

I think the most undoable of all the life styles would be to live in a town or settlement. During the Middle Ages towns were riddled with disease and the stench could be smelled from miles out. I think that being hungry some nights would be overly superior to living in filth. Though arguably wanderers probably didn't smell all that better.

Its really a lose, lose scenario. All in all living in that time period would be difficult, short, and unhealthy which leads me to think I wouldn't want to live that way. But the nomadic lifestyle would be the best that I could think of. Especially amongst the shrew tribes where they settled and then moved on after the crops are harvested, wandering where the tribe pleased would be, in my opinion the best of a bad situation.
