"Again, Alfhild only wants me maimed emotionally." Rapshade spat.
"Understand?"

Groddil

"Pah! I think th' Chief isn't goin' ta execute me if I takes a claw or two."
Grenlik lunged his spear towards Rapshade's paw.

Ashleg

"I wouldn't mind doing it." Rapshade feinted to the left but instead leapt up and aimed to kick Grenlik in the throat.

Groddil

Grenlik hurriedly withdrew his spear and plunged it towards Rapshade was feinting. Due to the weapon's length, the handle protected his throat from the ferret's kick. Realizing how dangerous his opponent was, Grenlik dropped the spear and dived onto Fangfang, still, holding the dagger.
"Careful, now. His throat's already cut. I saw ye tryin' ta revive 'im. Won't 'appen. Why don' I jus' completely sever 'is 'ead?"

"Ava," Bracklew whispered glad to see the badger. He thankfully accepted a shoulder to lean on, letting his sword drag in the snow as they fled the scene.  "Why, are you out here?" He looked back seeing several squirrels and Petu running in a different direction, carrying Duncan between them.

The horde seemed to have stalled, but were giving chase none the less. "Are they alright?" He asked as the other Redwallers disappeared between the trees.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"Alright, be careful." Petu said, he had grown much fonder of the squirrel ever since it was shown that he could fight. And fight well. The rabbit would have preferred him to stick around, as they raced willy nilly through the trees, but one couldn't have everything.

"We need to angle more eastward or we'll miss the Abbey entirely." Petu warned the makeshift stretcher carriers. "I'm going to run ahead and see if I can rally the Vigil and Abbey to come help us." A spear flew past him as he said it, and overhead a squawk could be heard from a pursuing crow.

Flying low Grah and two of her warriors swooped down landing behind Alfhild. The black bird was furious, she had been searching in the wrong direction for some time, and had missed out on a vicious battle. Her veracious temper had been taken out on her cronies, both of whom were now missing feathers.

"Creeaah, earthwalker scum, where they?" She demanded towards Alfhild and Fardan hopping behind them as they ran.

"They're running off, come on, you stupid bird!" Alfhild snapped, shoving her way to the front of the group that was giving chase. The ferret quickly got out her bow and spotted Petu racing ahead, so she took aim at his back.

"Sever his head an' I'll sever every part of you before I sever your head. Slowly...silently...Thank y' for being so dumb!" Rapshade grinned, switching places and grabbing Grenlik's spear. He held it off to one side as he analyzed the situation and then took a swing with the handle at Grenlik's head.

"We were out looking for you, and Rapshade," said the badger. "The others are retreating, Duncan's been wounded."

Asher materialized out of the darkness. "Ava, Bracklew, the horde's following us."

Ava nodded. "Let's join with the rest, we can get something better for your paw."

<O>

Partially paying attention to the crow, Fardan peered off into the distance. "I'm going to go cut off the badger."

He disappeared into the night.

Grenlik ducked his head to the side and threw himself backwards against the wall, Fangfang's limp form draped across him.
"Not so fast, ferret. Ye kill me, an' me paw slips."
The weasel dug the dagger further into Fangfang's wound.
"An' if me paw slips...'Ee loses 'is 'ead."

Ashleg

"One of my titles by my old crew was the Upstart Ferret. I'm going to weasel and cheat my way up to an equal rank with Alfhild and then make you wish you were never born." Rapshade hissed, fixing Grenlik with a piercing glare and curling his claws in and out.
"If you kill Fang faster than he's already dying, I'm gonna make you scream for miles--and it's not an idle threat. Fight me, you coward!"

Groddil

"You? Cheat yer way up ta equal rank wid th' chief? She 'ates yer, ya stupid scum. That won't 'appen afore she's in Hellgates."
The weasel dug the dagger in deeper to Fangfang's throat.
"Why don't ye want me t'do this, anyway? I'm puttin' 'im outta 'is misery."

Ashleg

"You have to stop!" Rapshade whimpered, feeling helpless in the fleeting seconds before he ran up and smacked Grenlik across the face.
"Put him down and fight me, Addlebrain!"

Groddil

Grenlik winced at the slap.
"Now 'ang on there, Mista Illogical. Not only da ya want 'im ta suffer, ya also wants ta fight me unfairly? 'Ow 'bout this. You got th' spear, an' I only got a dagger. So, I thinks that I should get a shield as well."
Grenlik jumped to his feet, dagger in one paw, and the other tightly gripping Fangfang in front of him.
"Whatcha goin' ta do, ferret? Yew willin' ta go through yer mate ta get ta me?"

Ashleg

OOC-
Grenlik's a stoat, right? If he isn't, I'll edit this.
Also...planned PP. ;)

IC-
In a flash he was behind Grenlik, knocking the weasel down by hitting him roughly in the back with the spearbutt. "I'm called Swift for a reason, Cloudbrain. I don't have t' go through my friend." Rapshade grinned jeeringly.
The ferret repositioned his weapon so that the spearhead was touching Grenlik's throat. "And you're going t' let go of that dagger if y' haven't already dropped it..."
