"On your way to the Abbey? Well, you won't get far going this way. If I recall correctly; however, the way you came from should land you just near the Abbey pond. At least, that's what the records seem to indicate. And if you're going to Redwall, why use the tunnels? Can't you just go through the woods?"

Hickory

"Let's see, we were attacked by crows, hid out in a log, fell through down to here, and continued on. We never intended to use these tunnels, I never even knew that they existed. Back that way, eh? Are you coming with us or not?"

"Then I'll teach myself to walk with it. I'm not the one with the cane...sir."
Rapshade growled, narrowing his eyes.
Grant walked over to help him back onto the bed, but the ferret pulled away and yanked himself up, standing wobbily on one leg.

"Bracklew, deal with him, please." Grant said, following after Marble.

Hickory

"No need, Father," said Ava, striding over to Rapshade. With a tap of her paw she pushed him back onto the bed.

OOC: Hope that's okay.

OOC-
That's fine. XD
IC-
Rapshade frowned and again dropped his gaze, knowing better than to mess with a Badgermum.
"I-I-I'm not going anywhere," he said hurriedly, pawing at his face.

Mortembell shrugged.
"Can't say they'll be happy to see me back. Oh, y'know, pirates, beatings, that sorta thing. But I'll come with you if you take me to the Vigil afterwards. I'll lead the way, let's go."
The vixen sheathed her sword and led the way back along the tunnel.
"We'll probably need to get some moles to seal up the way you came in. If those crows saw it, or anybeast from the horde comes across it, that'll blow my plan wide open..."

Hickory

"What plan... Y'know, tell me that later. If yore looking to see One-Ear, then I'll take you. The Vigil isn't in the best condition right now; I suppose you'll want t'hear the full story."

Having watched the exchange in quiet confusion Bracklew had eventually guessed what had taken place. His own relief at not being accused of treason was suddenly less worrying, he'd have to put aside old grievances if he wanted to be of any use.

Hurrying past Ava he jerked a paw at Rapshade, "Mum Ava could you keep an aye on him for a moment. I'll be back in half a second. I need to ah... Relive myself." He rushed out of the infirmary and down a few of the steps before catching up to Marble.

"Hey, hey mouse, uh Marble right? Stop I need to talk to you." He descended the steps and stopped so he was standing eye level with him. "What kind of horde are we talking about here? Surely it isn't that big if Rapshade thinks he can deal with them himself."

Mortembell nodded.
"Mmm, yes. Explain it on the way."
The vixen loped down the tunnel.

Marble turned slowly to stare at Bracklew.
"Really? You've suddenly forgotten your obvious hatred towards me? Well, why don't you pull the wool from your eyes and realize that I've been in the INFIRMARY the entire time One-Ear's been tailing the horde. You want to know? Ask the damn ferret! I don't have to deal with this."
The mouse scoffed and walked away from Bracklew.

Hickory

Asher didn't hesitate. "Alright, so the first sign we saw of them was when I was headed back towards the camp from the Abbey. We were attacked by a crew of fifteen, one of ours died in the attack. On our way back to One-Ear we were almost attacked by another group, and One-Ear got the names Fardan and Alfhid... Then Marble was attacked, you know about that. It was all quiet until One-Ear captured another horde member from another party, which ended up in him getting hurt and the horde counter attacking. We were defeated, though we got a decent look at all of the leaders. Fardan's a wildcat, Alfhid's a ferret, I fought her myself, and there was some sort of leader crow. I didn't hear it's name, although it's certainly savage."

Taking a breath, he smiled at Mortembell. "That's all we know. They definitely outnumbered us, and we didn't even get a full look at the horde."

Rapshade lie still as he listened to Marble yowling his head off at Bracklew.
The ferret was finally getting a grip on himself again, though the thought of Alfhild being alive and nearby sent a spooky feeling down his spine.
He'd need to talk with Fang about what was going to happen if she came.

OOC:

Sagetip, can you edit your post? The Vigil isn't at the camp anymore, remember? They're about to start moving to the Abbey.

The look of shocked hurt on Bracklew's face melted in cold fury as Marble shouted at him. "I don't have any idea what your talking about mouse. But clearly you've been in the Vigil long enough to gain their smug self importance! Go hide away and stuff yourself on Redwall's hospitality. I deal with this on my own!"

Stomping away in a high temper Bracklew cursed every member of the Vigil with every name he knew under his breath. As he marched his mind changed from anger to reasoning as he considered the past actions of the Vigil. He was right, they would be unbearable if they were the ones to defeat this Alfhild's horde. And they were the best chance of defeating her, no other beasts could potentially outmatch Alfhild, he certainly couldn't. Blast no other beast even would try.

Bracklew stopped, his ears perked, eyes flashing in a rebellious light. Or was there? Sprinting down a different stairwell Bracklew came to a storage closet where he picked up several items he would need. Taking the odd assortment with him he made a quick stop at the kitchens. Rusk was busy, so he didn't notice the young squirrel hastily filling two haversacks with supplies.

That done Bracklew sprinted back up the stairs his sword bouncing on his legs as he ran. Puffing slightly he burst through the infirmary door he dropped the items on the bed nodding to Ava.

"I got it handled now mum Ava, you can go."

Rapshade looked up, interest filling his eyes as Bracklew unloaded a strange array of items onto the bed. "What's this?" He asked, sitting up. "Can't be for me, can it?"
