OOC: Do you guys want to start planning what happens next? Sage with Ava and Groddil with One-ear? We can talk through PM. I'm also thinking that somewhere along the way Fardan ought to torture Bracklew for information. How do yall want to discuss this stuff, in the OOC thread? Or by PM?

OOC: Unless it concerns serious plot development,s the OOC thread would be the best place.

OOC:

BTW who all is going to be in this search party? I'm thinking Ava and Petu straight off, maybe Duncan and Fang as well?
Duncan and Fang are coming because I'm not going to let them eat and sleep and cause trouble for the whole roleplay...and...

OOC: Ashleg must be away on vacation in Disneyland so should we put the RP on hold and await his return? Or press on?
Next time, yeah, this would be appreciated.

Also.

I agree with this! ;)

"Give y' what, a couple of candies?" Rapshade sneered, peeking out from Alfhild's tent. "The dreadful one--she's asleep. Ask me if y' can talk t' me because Alfhild doesn't speak for me." He snapped, glaring straight up at the wildcat.
"I'm not sleeping!" Yowled Alfhild from inside the tent.
Rapshade shook his head, gesturing behind him. "Must be screaming in her sleep. Does she get nightmares much, Sir? Eheh..."
Alfhild zoomed outside and shoved him out of the tent so that he sprawled facedown in the snow.
"Sarcastic little brat!" She snapped. "What was it, Fardan, you wanted to talk to Rapshade? Go ahead, by all means...he's yours to interrogate."

Hickory

Fardan crossed his arms. "Your captured squirrel is tougher than he looks, Alfhild. I was hoping that your nephew would be a more willing source of information. So," he said, switching his view to Rapshade. "How much would the Redwallers pay for the squirrel? He certainly seems special to them, if he's their champion or something."

Spitting out snow, Rapshade hauled himself up and glared hard at Alfhild before turning to Fardan. "They don't have much to pay with," he said, glancing behind him. "And they will most likely come fight t' get him back. So?"

Hickory

OOC: Careful, the room's getting a bit hot from this sass.

BIC:

"Fine," he replied coolly. "Anything about their defenses I should know about?"

It's getting hotter. He's sparking the flame...
Push him back in the snow if you have to, that'll cool things down.  :P ;)

Rapshade shrugged and rolled his eyes back.
"They're all either too young or too old t' fight, so they rely on the Vigil t' do all their nasty work. Unless you're already at their mercy. Then you'd just better watch your tongue or they'll beat ya while you're down..."
Alfhild leaned over and patted his face. "Or you're just weak," she chimed. "I'll..."
"Shut yer trap, loudmouthed Addlebrain! Is that all you have?" Rapshade whirled round to face Fardan again. "And don't think I like you either, cat, because if I had it my way, you'd be taking orders from me and not this snot-nosed old ferret!"

It didn't take long for Rayne to gather everybeast up, and soon a small collection of beasts had gathered beneath Redwall's threshold. The Vigil hadn't been pleased with the idea of Redwallers leaving the Abbey, with a horde camped out in Mossflower somewhere. Even now they tried to dissuade Rayne and the others from leaving.

All in all four animals had volunteered to head out into Mossflower in search of Bracklew and Rapshade. Petu the rabbit, Ava the badger, Duncan the hare, and Fangfang the rat. Having given them a few supplies, weapons of their choice Rayne stepped back to stand by Grant waving to them encouragingly.

"Good luck, bring them back safe."

Petu grinned winking towards the mouse healer, "I know just where Brack might try and go with ol' Rappy. We'll find them easy I'm sure." Petu would be acting as guide, being the most familiar with the local woodlands. Crossing his arms the young rabbit nudged Duncan in the shoulder sidling up to the hare. "I say sah, wouldn't this be like a mission on the jolly Long Patrol? Wot." He said attempting to copy the hare's accent.

OOC:

Groddil will any of the Vigil joining them, or Sage maybe some of Asher's team?

Duncan posed heroically. "You're right, Petu, a jolly mission!" The hare's ear twitched while he grinned. "Well, maybe not jolly. Especially if there turns out to be no fighting at all and we just find the two admiring the snow. Wot!"
Fangfang giggled at hearing that, tilting his head the other way. "Maybe that'll be what happens fer real. I wouldn't mind..."

Hickory

"If it went my way, I'd be ordering you both around. How can I use the squirrel for leverage? That's what I'd like to know."
I am the master of my fate:

"Kill him." Said Rapshade simply, hopping up and around Alfhild with a grin on his face.
"Get rid of the squirrel and Redwall loses its Warrior. He wants me dead, so I can't see why we shouldn't just get rid of him while we have him."
Alfhild opened her mouth to speak, but he wagged a paw in her face and shushed her.
The former captain continued. "I've captured him before and he's been known to escape. Let's not be idiots, just kill the squirrel..."

"I say we use him as a bargaining chip." Alfhild snapped, shoving her nephew out of the way as she paraded up to Fardan, blue eyes flicking back and forth angrily.
"Why listen to Rapshade when we can figure this out ourselves? Rapshade's sick, weak, and deceitful. I can see it in his eyes. How about we take the squirrel, put him in a dangerous position, and when those stupid Woodlanders come looking for him, which I bet ears to tail they will, they'll try to rescue him and an ambush from our side can unfold."

Hickory

"That's too easy," said Fardan. "They'll be expecting an ambush, although if they're naive enough..."

He contemplated the plan. "I don't know. We'll try the ambush, and if that doesn't work than I can just go and ask them what they want. One thing's for sure - the Redwallers won't leave him to die."
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Ashleg

"You should get rid of him now, I'm telling you..!" Rapshade protested, glaring daggers at Fardan.
"You shouldn't take her idea over mine. She's old, and...crazy."

Hickory

"How you ever made it to be captain of a vessel I'll never know..." said Fardan. "Don't overexert yourself against your aunt, alright? I'll be back."

The wildcat left, heading back towards where Bracklew was.

As soon as Fardan was gone, Alfhild rounded on Rapshade and cuffed him across the face.
"Never insult me again, do you hear me?!" She demanded, kicking his legs.
Rapshade thought nasty things as he dropped into an elegant bow, nodding innocently.
"Of course, Ma'am. I wouldn't dream of being rude t' you..."
