I've never watched anime so I have no idea what any of you are talking about. Except learning Japanese. I would love to do that. I know the occasional sentence here and there but I'd love to learn more.

Check out Duolingo.  It's what I'm using, and it's completely free!  I've only been doing it for a little over a week, and I've learned so much.  It feels great to be able to sound out random bits of hiragana when I encounter them online, even if I have no clue what the words actually mean. xD
