It's a matter of how Saitama's power works: it literally just takes one punch. I don't see Goku, as powerful as he is, one-hitting anyone.

Another thing my brother pointed out is that Goku needs to charge his attacks. Saitama has that power on a whim.

And plus he's invincible.

Goku only needs to charge powerful ki blasts, such as the kamehameha wave.  For most everything else, he can do it instantaneously.  This even applies to going super saiyan and switching between super saiyan levels, as long as it isn't a level or form new to him.

For Saitama, it isn't something like "that's how his power works".  He just happens to be stupidly strong.  It's been shown that not everything get's blown away in a single punch (season 1 boss fight, for example), though it can always be argued that he isn't really ever giving it his all so we have no idea how strong he actually is.  Also, it isn't necessarily that Saitama is invincible, it's just that there hasn't been anyone strong enough to be able to hurt him as of yet.

Sure, when Saitama threw that punch at the end of the first season that parted the clouds across earth, that was friggin' SICK.  Thing is though, the first time Goku went Super Saiyan three, the entire universe shook from the power, and he's light years beyond that power level now.  I just can't see Saitama winning against that.

Maybe, but just about every season of Dragonball begins with Goku being killed. The others decide to resurrect him afterwards. So if Saitama can keep the group from getting the last dragonball, he's won.

Look at me, arguing about something that doesn't even interest me, that I've never watched from my own decision, about two people that are highly unlikely to fight.

Eh, Goku rezzing happened twice in Z, but I don't think it's come up in Super (just as far as Goku is concerned that is, other people get brought back all the time).

The "boss fight" at the end of season one was only what it was because of the guy's regenerative powers. He said it himself. Also, that guy literally travelled the galaxy looking for anyone stronger than him, and Saitama was leagues above him.

Yes yes, over here is our Ghost in the Shell mural and if you look to your right, you'll see an actual replica of the original Mobile Suit Gundam once piloted by Amuro, that silly newtype.

Oh yeah, definitely, I was more bringing that up to show that Saitama doesn't have a power that let's him kill anything in a single punch, he's just really really really strong.  A big distinction in my opinion

Oh yeah, definitely, I was more bringing that up to show that Saitama doesn't have a power that let's him kill anything in a single punch, he's just really really really strong.  A big distinction in my opinion 

I was just seeing how far the argument would go.
Also, have you seen the Goku vs Saitama series by MaStar media? It's pretty good.
