As many of you know, I went to a pilgrimage in Europe some weeks back. A lot of you guys asked for pictures, so here you go, at long last.

Spoiler

St. Paul's Outside the Walls.

The cell St. Paul was kept in before his execution.

We visited some catacombs, the only ones within the borders of Rome, but we couldn't take pictures inside.

Constantine's Arch.

The Colosseum!
You can see the part where they are rebuilding it.

Inside the Colosseum.

The Trevi Fountain.

The Pantheon!

Basilica of St. Agnes.

Church of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem. (Yes, I did get photos of the relics of the Passion.)

Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, the church of the Bishop of Rome: The pope's church.

The beautiful St. Mary Major.

Inside St. Mary Major is the crib Our Lord lay in when He was born.

Dome of St. Peter's Basilica.

Micro-mosaic (NOT a painting) above one of the dozens of side altars in St. Peter's. There are almost no, if any, frescoes or paintings in St. Peter's.

Pope's chair.

Off we went to beautiful, friendly Assisi!

Cathedral of St. Francis.

The incredible Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence.

Third biggest dome in the world.

We climbed it. :P

Chartres cathedral.

Chartres main altar.

A fraction of the pilgrims on the walking pilgrimage from Chartres to Paris.

Any of you who have read the Percy Jackson novels might appreciate these two.

This is but a small portion of the pictures I took on my trip. If any of you have questions, I'd be happy to answer!

Seeing all of these makes me even more jealous of how lucky you were to be able to visit Europe.  *sigh*  I love all the photos you took!  (Got any videos?)

But just wondering: why is Jesus' cradle made of gold? :P

@Last two: *Slow clap*

These are all awesome, though! Just wish you'd gotten more pics of countryside. :P (What, I'm weird.)

Mhera

Those are some great pictures!

Lady Ashenwyte

Is it gilded?

Indeed. You are as ancient as the soot that choked Pompeii into oblivion, though not quite as uncaring. - Rusvul

Thanks, guys! It's a trip I won't likely forget.

Look inside the gold thing with glass: You'll see wood.

My camera died right as we started our walk through the French countryside. Believe me,
I am not happy that I missed out on some incredible pictures.

Ohhh.  Okay.  I think I see it now.

Those are cool! I'm glad you could go on the trip. And yes, we'd like to see more ;)

You went to Chartres! :D

I spent a couple weeks there on two different exchange trips I did in high school. Such a cool city! The cathedral was my favorite. The belfries dominate the entire landscape and you can usually see it from several miles out. It dwarfs pretty much everything within a 10 or 20 mile radius

Looks like a fun trip!
