I have gotten a hold of the entire Redwall collection in English and I intend to read them all. It's gonna be tough (because I can't read English for long without getting extremely tired) but I want to experience those books the way they were intended. Wish me luck.
Good luck with that, mate. Hope you come to enjoy them as much as I. :)

Lady Amber

Cool, Sierra! Good luck!

I'm almost done with "Redwall".

I know it's easy pickings at this point, but I gotta say it anyway: If I didn't like it the first time around (and by that I mean, I was ready to set it ablaze) it's all because of the Spanish translation. It was a very odd translation and it had a rather "unique" use of the language that never felt right for me... but I guess that at the time I thought that that was their way around it, considering how they had to pull some tricks in order to keep it faithful to the original. I was wrong.

Now that I have access to the author's true intentions, it has become super enjoyable all of the sudden (and hey, having to stop every eighth sentence to look up words isn't fun at all, but isn't the true purpose of literature to learn from it?). Still not my favorite book or anything -more like a flawed work at best-, but I do appreciate it in a whole new way.

The first Redwall book isn't my favorite either, but I'm glad you're enjoying it more than you did the first time. :)

I just finished Redwall. Although very difficult to read at times, I enjoyed it immensely.

Mossflower is next and I'm REALLY looking forward to it :)

I'm just glad the others are no-where to be found in Spanish, because @Matthias720 can tell you the kind of nightmare this one was to read in that language.

The translation stunk worse than Gruntan Kurdly's corpse. True fact.
