Wrote up my own introduction, taking inspiration from yours.

I'm not going to kid around here, this is certainly not my best. Of course I have something to offer here, but it's not something you would stick up in the Sunday paper. My effort in compiling this portfolio was not exactly minimal, but I didn't do nearly as well as I could have. That being said, I'm confident that, with your criticism, I can continue to improve my writing throughout the second semester. Even though this content is not particularly valuable, I hope you find it "interesting" and memorable.

Before you read this portfolio, I just wanted to say a few words. Over the course of writing each essay and then revising them for the portfolio, I realized that in order to be successful, I need to be humble. Much like Holden, I should recognize that I cannot do everything. Though my writing skills need improvement, I'm confident that, with your criticism, I can continue to improve my writing throughout the second semester. Though this content is not especially valuable, I hope you find it "interesting" and memorable.
