Has anybody played any games of this series? I'm playing Total War: Warhammer right now as the Empire, and it's pretty fun.

I do play Total War, I particularly like Medieval 2 which I find a lot more fun then any of the new ones. Besides maybe Shogun 2.

Right now I'm refusing to buy the War hammer game because they haven't come out with the Skaven, or Lizardmen factions, and if they come out as a DLC which I have to pay for... After paying for the initial 60 dollar game like they did with the chaos warriors I'm gonna be mad. >:(

But if those two factions, along with the Dark elves get added as a patch I'd totally buy the game.

I'm pretty sure Skaven and the Lizardmen will come in a future game or campaign expansion, because this is the first of three games set in the Warhammer world.

I recently got Total War: Empire as part of a Steam sale. I've seen people play it before and it looks so cool! However I very, very quickly realized that I have absolutely no idea whatsoever how to play. Any tips for someone who is brand new to the game?

First things first, play the Road to Independence campaign. It's a good, fun tutorial for the game. Don't play the Grand Campaign right now, as it'll confuse you.
