Nice! Listening to Yiruma is very relaxing. Now, just a smattering of my eccentric (some might say indiscriminate) taste:

Last one's repetitive, but totally worth sticking with. (Also, his lung capacity is impressive.) ;D

I've listened to one of Darby O'Gill's songs, or one performed by him, not necessarily written. ;D Whiskey in the Jar. I liked the song, but then I heard another song by him where about half a minute into it the shout out "Alice, who the [insert filter here] is Alice?" Then I stopped listening to him... ;D

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is an awesome song. I have a question! Have you listened to the songs in my second post in this topic? I think that you might like the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem if you haven't already listened to them! ;D
Dreams, dreams are untapped and writhing. How much more real are dreams than that paltry existence which we now call reality? How shall we ascend to that which humanity is destined? By mastering the dreamworld of course. That is how, my pupils, that is how.

Did you say Makem and Clancy??? *tacklehug* You're my new music buddy. :D As to Darby O'Gill, I am rather selective in precisely which songs of his I listen to, but there's a handful couple of good ones out there at least.

Another amazing song, by a completely different band: the highly talented Steam Powered Giraffe (back when they were actually good...) who are really automatons built to combat evil Coal Fueled Elephants and were reprogrammed as entertainers after the war.

So does that mean that you prefer Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy more than the entire conglomeration?

I have so many favorite songs it's not funny. This month, my three favorites are Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance, Avalance by Bring Me the Horizon and Everything is Alright by Motion City Soundtrack.

I love Famous Last Words! Great song.
Isn't it? :D I didn't know you liked MCR. Have you listened to anything else by them?

I've listened to I think everything on the Black Parade Album and then a couple other songs by them. Then a little while after I did that, I heard about the possibility of a reunion tour this September, but I guess the whole story was a misunderstanding and the "big surprise" from the band was just a re-release of one of their albums XD Oh well!
"Cowards die a thousand times, a warrior only dies once. The spirits of all you have slain are watching you, Vilu Daskar, and they will rest in peace now that your time has come. You must die as you have lived, a coward to the last!" -Luke the warrior

Maudie

I like the sound of rap, but the genre is full of trash, so I love Jamesthemormon. ;D

List of not trashy rap that I am aware of:
Twenty One Pilots.

That's it. Unless you count Linkin Park.
"In the meantime, no one should roam the camp alone. Use the buddy system."
"Understood." Will looked at Nico. "Will you be my buddy?"
"You're a dork," Nico announced.

I do, but I still love the whole group of 'em. I just think that Makem and Clancy as a pair were more...(can't think of the word) dynamic? Their voices really complemented each other. Ooh! You should look up their performance of "Peter Kagan and the Wind". It's amazing, though not a song per se.

I will!

Have you heard either of their concerts at Carnegie Hall? I am not sure if there were any more, but the two that are pretty commonplace are the one on St. Patrick's Day in 1963 and the one in November of 1962.

Also, have you heard of Makem and Spain? Makem is Rory Makem, son of Tommy Makem, I like them.

Favorite albums of Makem and Clancy?

Milady Scribe

Hm. Believe I've seen a bit of one of those performances, though I'm not sure. Definitely heard some recordings of them at Carnegie Hall though. Ah, yes, Makem and Spain! They're good too, though I don't listen to them as often. :)

Favorite albums? Ah, I'd have to say "The Makem and Clancy Concert". Good choice of songs, the audience actually interacted, M&C were of course at their humorous and musical best, and overall it was just a fun live album.

With "The Dutchman" and "Leave Her Johnny"? That's a good one. ;D

I bet that you can't find a single concert of Makem and Clancy where the audience doesn't interact with them! ;D

Milady Scribe

Yup, that's the one!

Unfortunately, there is at least one. I believe it was one of the Carnegie Hall concerts--poor Tommy and Liam were trying so hard to get the audience to interact, but they just sat there like a buncha lumps on a log. It was kind of sad. "Come on, join in the chorus!" *cricket chirps*

Ah...that's not good, I've not heard a single one where the audience didn't interact.

If you go on Youtube, search for the Whistling Gypsy, and I think one of the videos that will pop-up, is in black and white, when you open it, it should say "Live on Festival." All of the songs in this are numbered, you have to find each separate video, the quality is appalling but it's a great collection of songs.

Milady Scribe

Ah! 'The Whistling Gypsy' was stuck in my head the other day! .....and in the morning I'm going to wake up with the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem singing in my head, I just know it.
