To give people something more to strive for.

Back when we had just the original five ranks (and people became Hero Members at 500 posts), people were always asking about new ranks and saying that wasn't enough, when they had 1,000 or 3,000 or 5,000 posts.

So, when the Staff started coming up with the new ranks, on the old forum, we decided they should be set up so that the average member that's been around for a good while would have three stars. That logic hasn't changed just because we've moved to a new forum. Since the forum was new, I brought all of the post count requirements down (like, a *lot* -- by 5 or 10 times, on some of them) so that not everybody would be a dibbun forever. Now that people are starting to get up there a bit, I'll eventually start to inflate the ranks back to where they used to be. I'll probably do it gradually, though, so that people don't just lose everything all at once.

Give me some credit here. I was talking about changing it quite a while before you got there, so that people would have to post a few thousand more times to see the new ranks. (Just ask Groddil. )

It's kind of hard to explain what I mean since I don't want to be a drama-monger.
We probably don't even realize this because it's so unspoken.
There's me and then there's the "well-loved" guys, and in all honesty, good for them.

You do NOT bite, Ash. Why'd ya have to say all that? You ARE one of the "well-loved" guys. I'm pretty sure that, aside from the ONE time, you haven't been involved in any sort of conflict.  You don't have any enemies here BECAUSE you're such an amazing guy. I'm pretty sure that, hands down, almost everyone that knows you will agree with me here.
