Well define best! Would you rather lug a heavy thing that generally required two-three men to move it and take forever to load, or would you like a light crossbow that you just carry over your shoulder and load it by lowering it to the ground, putting your foot in a stirrup-like thing at the front of the crossbow, and pull back a string until it reaches a notch and then place an arrow there? That was an outrageously long sentence and my mother would have been angry at me if that was in an essay.
