*Posts topic so that Scribe and I don't take up the forum. ;D Also so that I can surpass Groddil in topic starts. ;D*
Dreams, dreams are untapped and writhing. How much more real are dreams than that paltry existence which we now call reality? How shall we ascend to that which humanity is destined? By mastering the dreamworld of course. That is how, my pupils, that is how.

Milady Scribe

Two excellent reasons, sir!

*would post a link to "The Mary Ellen Carter" but won't because language*

I like songs about boats, could ya tell? ;)

"You can see the squares of canvas dancing over the horizon!" ;D

Since you also listen to Makem and Spain, I wanted to mention that I went to a concert of theirs last year! Got my picture taken with them and got the album "Like Others Did Before Us."

I really like the Day of the Clipper and the Mary Ellen Carter.

Minus the heavy use of synthesizer, it's very good! ;D

You lucky lucky duck!

Mm, good one indeed!

That's a good one, I used to have it memorized, now I can't start the chorus!

"As I rode out through Galway town something something something something-ruther!" ;D

I think I have almost all of Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy's albums on MP3. ;D

What do you think of this one? ;D

And thank you! ;D

:)

That's a great one! Sometimes I hum it on my way to get the mail (which is a five minute amble on a dirt path through trees). It also makes me think of this one:

Last song of the night for me, I'm afraid! But I'll be back; possibly tomorrow, possibly Friday.

...you have a five minute walk to get the mail? Does that mean that you can't really see other houses from your own?

Milady Scribe

Yup! It's really nice having plants that grow on their own. *happy sigh* (Scribe used to live in Southern California aka the desert.)

That is completely unfair. ;D I want to be secluded from civilization. ;D

So what is your favorite song by either Makem and Clancy, or the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem?

Oh, don't ask me that! That's completely unfair!

*dramatic sigh* Fine. Ummmm....I really love "The Mary Ellen Carter", but I think my absolute favorite is either "The Day of the Clipper" or "Sound the Pibroch". (If "Peter Kagan and the Wind" fully counted as a song, though, it would definitely be my favorite.)

What about you?

Those are both really cool!

I think that mine would have to be "The Nightingale" by the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. It's at the first page of "Favorite Songs" if you want to look at it.

Milady Scribe

Nice! The whistling in the beginning made me think of "The Whistling Gypsy".

Hm, what do you think of "Isn't It Grand Boys"? (Morose, I know...)

That's a funny one, I enjoy it. But it's not one of my favorites. What do you think of "Red Haired Mary"?

Hm, not sure I've heard that one, actually....I'll have to listen to that one today.
