Are you a fan of fallout? Do you want a Fallout RP in the style of Survive the Crimson Sunrise? Well, it exists now. Wanna join up? Complete this form:

The year is 2284. It has been 207 years since Nuclear War wiped out the modern world as we know it. Welcome, resident, to Vault 46, where you'll be spending your new life in the event of global nuclear Armageddon and the collapse of society. The Wasteland is a harsh place, which is why you must always listen to your Vault-Tec Appointed Overseer and his or her specially selected security force, the last line of defense between you and death. As a resident of Vault 46, you will have to take the Generalized Occupational Aptitude Test, or G.O.A.T., in order to obtain a profession. Remember, enjoy your time in the Vault, because nobody ever enters, and nobody ever leaves. You were born in the Vault, and you will die in the Vault, as radiation continues to make the outside world uninhabitable. Or does it...?

The G.O.A.T

Here's Ten Questions. Answer how you think your character would behave, and post your results in the character sheet.

1. You are approached by a frenzied Vault scientist, who yells, "I'm going to put my quantum harmonizer in your photonic resonation chamber!" What's your response?

     a) But doctor, wouldn't that cause a parabolic destabilization of the fission singularity?
     b) Yeah? Up yours too, buddy!
     c) Say nothing, grab a nearby pipe and hit the scientist in the head to knock him out. For all you knew, he was planning to blow up the vault.
     d) Say nothing, but slip away before the scientist can continue his rant.

2. While working as an intern in the Clinic, a patient with a strange infection on his foot stumbles through the door. The infection is spreading at an alarming rate, but the doctor has stepped out for a while. What do you do?

     a) Amputate the foot before the infection spreads.
     b) Scream for help.
     c) Medicate the infected area to the best of your abilities.
     d) Restrain the patient, and merely observe as the infection spreads.

3. You discover a young boy lost in the lower levels of the Vault. He's hungry and frightened, but also appears to be in possession of stolen property. What do you do?

     a) Give the boy a hug and tell him everything will be okay.
     b) Confiscate the property by force, and leave him there as punishment.
     c) Pick the boy's pocket to take the stolen property for yourself, and leave the boy to his fate.
     d) Lead the boy to safety, then turn him over to the overseer.

4. Congratulations! You made one of the Vault 46 baseball teams! Which position do you prefer?

     a) Pitcher
     b) Catcher
     c) Designated Hitter
     d) None, you wish the Vault had a soccer team.

5. Your grandmother invites you to tea, but you're surprised when she gives you a pistol and orders you to kill another Vault resident. What do you do?

     a) Obey your elder and kill the Vault resident with the pistol.
     b) Offer your most prized possession for the resident's life.
     c) Ask granny for a minigun instead. After all, you don't want to miss.
     d) Throw your tea in granny's face.

6. Old Mr. Abernathy has locked himself in his quarters again, and you've been ordered to get him out. How do you proceed?

     a) Use a bobby pin to pick the lock on the door.
     b) Trade a Vault hoodlum for his cherry bomb and blow open the lock.
     c) Go to the armory, retrieve a laser pistol, and blow the lock off.
     d) Walk away, and let the old coot rot.

7. Oh, no! You've been exposed to radiation, and a mutated hand has grown out of your stomach! What's the best course of treatment?

     a) A bullet to the brain.
     b) Large doses of anti-mutagen agent.
     c) Prayer.
     d) Removal of the mutated tissue with a precision laser.

8. A fellow Vault 46 resident is in possession of a Grognak the Barbarian comic book, issue number 1. You want it. What's the best way to obtain it?

     a) Trade the comic book for one of your own valuable possessions.
     b) Steal the comic book at gunpoint.
     c) Sneak into the resident's quarters, and steal the comic book from his desk.
     d) Slip some knock out drops into the resident's Nuka-Cola, and take the comic book when he's unconscious.

9. You decide it would be fun to play a prank on your father. You enter his private restroom when no one is looking, and...

     a) Loosen some bolts on some pipes. When the sink is turned on, the room will flood.
     b) Put a firecracker in the toilet. That's sure to cause some chaos.
     c) Break into the locked medicine cabinet and replace his high blood pressure medication with sugar pills.
     d) Manipulate the power wattage on his razor, so he'll get an electric shock next time he shaves.

10. Who is indisputably the most important person in Vault 46: He/She who shelters us from the harshness of the atomic wasteland, and to whom we owe everything we have, including our lives?

     a) The Overseer
     b) The Overseer
     c) The Overseer
     d) The Overseer

Rules and Stuff

Once you leave the Vault, you can pretty much do whatever. Stay together, split up, it functions like a standard forum RP for the most part, with me inserting things for you to do into the game and you deciding what to do. If you're running out of supplies, loot a supermarket. If some raiders are terrorizing a local settlement, do you help, or not? Keep in mind that players CAN kill each other, just PM me if you want it to happen. As for combat, it basically works similarly to how PvP works in Forum RPs, in that you can make an attack, but can't actually say whether it hits or not. Pretty basic. As for ammo, I won't keep track of exactly how much you have, just what type it is, and roughly how much you have (a little, a lot, etc.)

I know this as the SAFE test, since Vault 111 didn't have any screening (let alone viable subjects), or a need to administer tests.

The SAFE test is actually the G.O.A.T from the beginning of Fallout 3. This is the exact same, except Vault 101 has been replaced with Vault 46.

Also, Accepted. Your Position within the vault is... Security Officer! You've been pulled from your standardly-appointed position as a pedicurist and personally selected by the Overseer to keep the peace! You are ferociously loyal to the Vault, and have a natural proficiency with Energy Weapons and Melee Weapons, but start off with a negative reputation. A "character sheet" will be added to the main post for you.

@Eulaliaaa! @Delthion @Gonff the Mousethief @LT Sandpaw @Søren @James Gryphon

This is gonna be similar to Survive the Crimson Sunrise, so do you guys want to give it a shot?

James Gryphon

I'm not uninterested, but I don't know much of anything about Fallout (despite the original having come out during my early years).

You don't need to know that much about it to participate. Here's all you need to know:

1. You were born in a Vault, a government-funded bomb shelter to protect people from Nuclear Armageddon. Now, following a war that has wiped out most of the world, you emerge into the wasteland...
2. The Wasteland is populated by mutated animals, zombie-like ghouls (humans that have decayed from necrosis and radiation into zombie-like, ageless beings), and psychopathic raiders.
3. The three major factions that will appear in this (that aren't original creations) are the Brotherhood of Steel (Descendants of the US Military who covet technology and do not want the rest of the wasteland to have it, as technology can make war and stuff easier), the Enclave (Descendants of the US Government, who strive to make humanity pure again by committing genocide on wastelanders.), and the Followers of the Apocalypse (A group of doctors and scientists who strive to help people, preventing another disaster like the Apocalypse from happening again.).

Eulaliaaa!

Yeah, Fallout's cool. I'll make a character.
Just pretend there is something interesting and unique written here... I have nothing to say.

Delthion

I have never played it, I know nothing about Fallout, otherwise I would be interested. Is any knowledge required of the game before this?
Dreams, dreams are untapped and writhing. How much more real are dreams than that paltry existence which we now call reality? How shall we ascend to that which humanity is destined? By mastering the dreamworld of course. That is how, my pupils, that is how.

Nope! The only stuff you really need to know beforehand is the three dot points above. Just think "Survive the Crimson Sunrise", except instead of zombies, you got nuked.

Delthion

Sounds simple enough! Give me some time to make up a character sheet.

I'd like to join. I'll post my character sheet soon.
