Hickory

OOC: Firmly grasp it

BIC: James gripped his side. The security head's exercise was paying off as he started to lift the lid.

{Sage}

Between the two of them, James and Bobby managed to haul the lid from the top of the generator. The Security Guards dumped it to the side, and Bobby peered in through the top.
"I was in Engineering before I got pulled to the Security Force, boss. I've never seen this kind of generator before, but if its anything like the ones in the vault..."
He grabbed a nearby screwdriver, and after about a minute, tossed another metal plate to the side.
"Hand me that wrench?"

Hickory

James complied. He knew what the Vault's generators looked like, having guarded them a few times, but the rusted wasteland generator was not like the vault's at all. They weren't rebuilding it, though, so he was not duly worried about the outcome.
I am the master of my fate:

Bobby took the wrench and reached deep into the generator.
"Yep, feels familiar. Doesn't look it, but the interior is quite similar. Hell of a lot smaller, though. Shame. If we had one of the Vault generators here, it'd probably take three people to lift the part I'm looking for..."
The Vault Dweller swore as the generator clanged repeatedly.
"Okay, that's a bit of a problem. Bloody wrench."
Bobby reached into the toolbox and picked up a strange device, rectangle-shaped and roughly the size of a postcard, but much wider. He pulled the cord out of the device and reached once again into the generator. He plugged the cord in and withdrew the cube.
"Perfect. I used to love these things back in Engineering. Fission batteries, all the maintenance workers swear by 'em. So, if I just... Damn it!"
The fission battery showered Bobby with sparks, causing him to drop the device. Several seconds later, the generator started to shake. The Vault Dweller peered through the gap.
"There it is."
He kicked the battery aside, pulling the cord out of it.
"Okay... Battery wouldn't fix this for long anyway. Better to do it... this way!"
He took a hammer from the toolbox and lowered it into the generator.
"One... Two... Three!"
*CLANG!* *SMASH!* *Hisssssss!*
Steam began rising out of the generator as the security guard pulled numerous pieces of broken machinery out.
"That's the excess water gone. And this..."
He pulled out another rectangular device, about the size of his arm.
"Miniature nuclear reactor. This baby's what keeps the generator workin'. I reckon if we take the reactors out of all the reactors and stash 'em somewhere, on our way out o' this place... Boom."
The Vault Dweller kicked the generator roughly. With most of its insides either removed or shattered, the metal frame collapsed in on itself.
"One down..."

Kitsune

OOC: I had a whole post written last night and I lost it. :-\

BIC: Kit nodded and accepted the Pulse Grenade. He turn and looked at the bridge. It was fairly long, and it joined the land a bit of a distance from the shore. He though the best plan was to get on the bridge where it rejoined the land, instead of climbing up one of the support beams, so he started walking there. Along the way, he tried to stay covered, but he didn't see a sign of anyone on the bridge the whole way.

When he got to the bridge, he was a fair distance away from the raiders. It would have been the perfect opportunity to escape, but the he still needed to free the others and he was unsure if he could survive in the city by himself. He walked cautiously up the bridge, hand on his pistol, keeping to the edge of the bridge. About halfway down the bridge, he spied a figure holding a gun with their back turned. He did not know what group the figure belonged to or if they would fire at him. He quietly jogged over to one of the massive steel support beams, shielded most of his body behind it, and decided to risk asking if he could pass.
"Hey! Is this the way to the city? My vault had to be evacuated and I need supplies!"

{Kit}

The figure turned around. Clad in black armor, they raised their rifle and stepped out of cover to fire at Kit. Before they could get a shot off, a huge blast of blue energy slammed into them, sending their giblets over the side of the bridge.
"Hey, kid, up here."
Kit looked up, where a woman was crouching on the top walkway of the bridge. As expected, she wasn't in power armor, but was clad in a thin, grey kevlar suit. It blended quite well into the environment, unlike the massive sniper rifle-like gun that she was leaning on.
"The hell are you doing walking here, wastelander? Those mercs are everywhere."
Another figure in black armor emerged from a maintenance door on the side of the bridge. The woman fired again, pushing what was left of the person back through the door.
"Get up here, there's a ladder to your left."

Kitsune

A bit shaken from the action that had just taken place, Kit felt a little stupid for not noticing the woman in the first place. He did not know if the woman was going to help him on not, but he figured that she would have already obliterated him with her weapon if she wanted him out of the way. He glanced to his left and saw the ladder she mentioned. He went over to it and started climbing.
"Thanks for taking care of those mercs, but do you mind if I ask who you are?"
He had a feeling that she might be from the Brotherhood, in which case he might be able to ask for help in freeing the other people from his vault.

Groddil

{Kit}

The woman lights a cigarette and dangled her legs lazily off the side of the bridge.
"Paladin Payton of the Brotherhood of Steel, but you can call me Katrina. Who're you, kid from Vault 46?"
Just as Kit was close to the top of the ladder, a Vertibird appeared over the top of a nearby building. It turned side-on to the building, and the side-mounted minigun began ripping one floor of the structure to shreds. Katrina swore.
"Bloody Enclave. At least they're not killin' us."
All of a sudden, a small projectile, like a missile, shoots out of the building and slams into the front of the Vertibird. A scream fills the air, as the gunner, on fire, falls out of the vehicle. The cockpit starts to go up in flames the aircraft spirals downwards. Katrina flicks her cigarette off the side of the bridge and pulls a Pip-boy, the same mode as Kit's, out of one pocket.
"Whoever those guys are, they've got some serious firepower. Hey, Jamison, we got a Vertibird down near the Eastern Bridge."
"What? Damn it, wasn't one of ours that shot 'em down. Get over there, secure the place and grab anything valuable from the wreck. I don't know if Ramos'll be happy about this. Wastelanders taking down Enclave."
"Yeah, well tell the Elder that we should try and actually take a Vertibird intact for once. We aren't gaining anything from shootin' 'em down, aside from the odd piece of Enclave gear."
"Copy. HQ Out."
Katrina strapped her rifle to the back of her suit and tucked the Pip-boy back in a pocket.
"Time for introductions later, kid. I'm going to go check out that Vertibird. Don't follow me."

OOC: Sounds like Mutants, or Gunners. (but Gunners are just from the commonwealth.)

Also, i thought Pip-Boys came without radios? (Unless it's a different model)

OOC: Sounds like Mutants, or Gunners. (but Gunners are just from the commonwealth.) Well, the only factions from other games included here are the Brotherhood, Enclave, and Followers of the Apocalypse. NCR is mentioned, but other than that, nothing. Other factions are all originals.

Also, I thought Pip-Boys came without radios? (Unless it's a different model) Pip-boy 2500. A handheld model, like the ones in the original fallout (Pip-boy 2000). For the sake of the story, we'll say that the Broterhood jury-rigged the ones they found, ala a walkie-talkie. Or maybe the 2500 model came with a radio, but it took up too much space/power and was removed from future models.

@Sagetip - And we can start dealing with the other generators and I'll make something happen, too, I guess.

OOC: Heyyyyyy, will ya look at this. Heheh.. heh... uh.......

BIC: Lynn wordlessly reached out and took the gun, leaving to take it where she was told. If she was going to get out of this place, she'd have to get an idea of the layout and how things worked. It wouldn't hurt to have a little bit of trust, too.
Just pretend there is something interesting and unique written here... I have nothing to say.

{Eul}

As Lynn followed Diane's directions, she eventually came to a large cabin with the word "Workshop." Before entering, she notices James and Bobby in the yard, pulling apart more generators.

Hickory

James stared at the destroyed generator. "Huh. I'm not sure how well I'll like the wasteland..."

He started towards the second generator.
