Kitsune

OOC: Got it.

BIC: Kit straightened up with a wince; he was lucky that bat hadn't caused any bones to break. What had he gotten himself into? Fortunately, the rebar did feel a lot like his wrench, so he'd be able to use it fairly well. He waited a few moments, bracing himself for the pain that he knew his movements would bring. Gritting his teeth, he dashed forward, faked a sweeping overhead blow from the right, but instead brought the rebar down and attempted to slam it upward into the Raider chief's gut from the left.

Lady Ashenwyte

OOC: Not sure what to do with my character, so waiting for Groddil to post.

Sargon watched Kit attack the raider chieftain. It would have amused him if not for the fact that if the teenager died he'd likely be dead as well.

Indeed. You are as ancient as the soot that choked Pompeii into oblivion, though not quite as uncaring. - Rusvul

Just a butterfly struggling through my chrysalis.

OOC: I've been busy over the weekend, and couldn't get internet until now, other than Maccas Wifi. Soz. Also, Sandpaw and Delthion have both dropped out, hence why Aleah got murdered last post with no intervention from Sand. I'm gonna try and get more players, 'cause... yeah.

BIC:

The Slavedriver ducks to the side to avoid the sweeping blow, and lowers his baseball bat. The rebar slams into one of the large, metal, plates grafted onto his clothing. He snatches the rebar and sweeps it to the side, bringing his knee up into Kit's chest, knocking the Vault Dweller back. The slavedriver swings his baseball bat again, this time slamming it into Kit's leg.
"You're doing well, boy, but trying to jab me won't work for you. I've got armor, you gotta think outside the box, boy. Especially with Brotherhood and Enclave running around, you've gotta learn how ta deal with armor!"

Hickory

OOC: Rebar won't do anything against Power Armor, no matter how you use it.

OOC:

1) They're raiders. Not really smart.

2) Not rebar, but the point is that other, real weaponry will.

Kitsune

OOC: Going at armor with rebar? This will be... fun. :P

BIC: Kit fell back to the ground, the wind knocked out of him from the blow to the chest and his leg on fire from the bat. He tenderly, but quickly, checked himself to see if anything was broken. Thankfully, nothing was. He tenderly got up. "Look," he slowly wheezed, "I don't think it's exactly fair that I only have a rebar, you know? You have a bat, which is similar, but I don't have any armo-" Kit used the words to distract his opponent, and was now right in front of the Slavedriver. Before he finished the word armor, he hooked his right leg behind the other man's right leg, pushed him in the chest using his entire weight, and sent the man sprawling on the ground. He then moved quickly around to his head, and swung several times at his head with the rebar.

Groddil

OOC: Try not to PP, I was gonna have him lose soon anyway. :p

BIC:

The Slavedriver's armored gas mask was probably the only thing that saved him. After several swings of the rebar, one of the other raiders came running up. She pushed Kit away and knelt next to the Slavedriver.
"Griggs! Griggs, get up. We have to go, boss. There's Vertibirds all over the damn place. Has to be Enclave."
Griggs swore, pulling a syringe of Med-X from his belt and injecting it into himself. He rose to his feet, bat in hand. The Raider woman tossed him a device that looked somewhat like a stimpak. Griggs pulled off his gas mask and spat out a tooth.
"Good work, boy. You'll do well, especially once you get ahold of a proper weapon. Here, we took this off you. Might come in handy."
One of the raiders tosses Kit his wrench back.
"Okay, Vault Dwellers, show's over."
The raiders standing behind the Dwellers, apart from Kit, pull out some sort of inhalers and press it to the mouths of their prisoners. Several seconds later, only Kit and the Raiders remain standing. One of them gives him a stimpak, which he summarily uses. Less pain now.
"Okay, kid, grab 'em. The Painspike Camp is just through the trees."

<|[X]|>

By the time the Painspike Raiders manage to carry the Vault Dwellers to their camp, it's getting closer to sunset. The Raider encampment is some sort of Pre-War Cabin village, surrounded by a wall made of wrecked cars and other assorted metal. More raiders, armed with assault rifles, man the walls. Griggs approaches the gate, which is heavily guarded.
"'Ey, who the hell are you?"
"Who do you think, Bill?"
"Griggs? Oi, Phil. Open the bloody gate!"
The rusty gate slides open, and the arrivals drag the Captive Vault Dwellers into a nearby walled-off area populated by several thin, weak-looking people, clad in filthy rags. Griggs slams the gate, and he and the Painspikes lead Kit off, away from the Slave Pen.

{Kit}

As the sun sets, Griggs, the Raider Woman, and Kit approach the largest of the cabins, where a throne has been constructed out of a tractor tire, a piece of wood, and several spikes. A man clad in uncomfortable-looking armor sits lazily in the throne.
"Griggs, Dianne. What is the meaning of this interruption?"
"Got more slaves, boss. Vault Dwellers, this time."
"Did you find the Vault?"
"A couple of me men are tearing the area up as we speak. Vertibirds everywhere, though."
"Enclave?"
"No idea. Has to be, though. Nobody else has working vertibirds around here."
"How many slaves were there?"
"We've got four, sir. And a new recruit."
"Four. Four? How many did you kill, Griggs?'
"Two. They were useless. Weak, hot-headed."
"I see. Are any of the new arrivals useful to us?"
"One of them's a Doctor."
"Good. And the boy?"
"The new recruit. Kit."
"Kit. I see. What makes you think he's strong enough?"
"He managed to get the upper hand on me with nothing but a bit of rebar. AND he took the beating."
"I really hope you gave him a Stimpak before you brought him here."
"Yeah, we did."
"I see. Well, once we get that doctor sorted, send him there. Can't have somebody half-crippled working for me. But I need more than one person to vouch for him, Griggs. Diane, any thoughts?"
"The kid seems smart, boss. He was no match for Griggs, but managed to distract him long enough to nearly kill the old guy, unless he had that gas mask on."
The man on the throne scoffs.
"Outsmart Griggs? I find that hard to believe... That was sarcasm, you ignorant buffoon. Take the boy to one of the bunkhouses, and get Wrench to fix him up some armor. Spike McGee has spoken!"
Griggs and Diane lead Kit towards a cabin. As they kick the door open, a scruffy-looking man wearing welding goggles greets them.
"Ooh, a Vault Dweller. Splendid to meetcha, I'm Wrench. Whaddaya want?"
"Fix him up some armor, Wrench. Spike's orders."
"Rightyo, rightyo. Oi, Vaultie. Whatcha want? Light, or heavy?"

{Sage, Eul, Ashe}

Meanwhile, in the slave pen, James, Lynn, and Sargon are starting to stir. Jack and Bobby are still out cold, as are several other slaves in the compound with them. Before any of them can speak, the gate to the pen opens, and several raiders grab Jack, dragging him towards the exit.

OOC: @Kitsune: Go light, raider armor is bad stuff either way. (stat wise, at least.)

Kitsune

OOC: Sowwy Grodd. :P Got a little carried away. @Sagetip: Thanks. ^_^

BIC: Kit considered the options. "Light seems to be a better fit for my fighting style. ...The name's Kit. Nice to meet you, Wrench."

OOC: All good. Also, who said anything about raider amor?

BIC:

{Kit}

Wrench nods.
"Pleasure's all mine, Vaultie, err, Kit. Just come this way."
Wrench has some sort of leather suit lying on a nearby workbench, along with several patches of material. He slices the pauldrons, elbow, and knee pads from the suit and inspects them. He reaches for a bottle of Wonderglue and some straps, and soon has the armor pieces firmly grafted to Kit's jumpsuit. Then, the raider takes the patches of material and glues them into one large rectangle.
"Know what Kevlar is, Kit? 'Cause that's what this is."
He slices the rectangle of Kevlar and slips it over kit's jumpsuit. An application of Wonderglue later, the Vault Dweller's jumpsuit now looks significantly stronger.
"All done. That way, ya won't die as easily, an' Ye still look like a Vaultie. Might come in handy, if nobody ever thinks yer one of us."
Griggs nods.
"Spike wants you to help us find your Vault tommorow, boy. I'll show you to your bunk."

OOC: If anyone else wants to talk to the raiders or something, do so. Otherwise, sit tight and start thinking of how to get out of there.

Kit nodded and followed Griggs. Along the way, he thought to mention, "Our vault had to be evacuated. We're not sure what went wrong, but it started flooding and all sorts of mutant creatures invaded. I'm not sure if you'd find anything valuable left in there, or even if it would be safe."

Lady Ashenwyte

OOC: Would it be possible for another recruitment?

Lynn watched silently as Jack was dragged towards the exit. She didn't say anything or move, but just sat and watched to see what would happen.
Just pretend there is something interesting and unique written here... I have nothing to say.
