Personally, I say the debate over Pluto is a nonentity. If you want to pity a planet, pity the 7th planet from the sun. It started out with the hideous evil-sith-lord sounding name Georgium Sidus, and then got saddled with the even worse name Uranus, becoming the butt of a variety of humiliating anatomical and scatological jokes...

Well yes but it's not actually pronounced Yur-ay-nus. It's yur-uh-nus. Or if you prefer the original Greek, Ouranos (Ur-an-ose). Forgive the butchering of the phonetic spelling, it's not exactly my strong suit.

"Understood." Will looked at Nico. "Will you be my buddy?"
"You're a dork," Nico announced.

These actually sound cooler. Unfortunately, no one would know what the flip I was talking about if I starting saying either of those, and would probably wonder why I was calling upon the brother of Cthulu or something.

When talked about seriously, I've only ever heard it called YUR-uh-nus. Obviously I get the joke, but I don't think I know anyone who tried to pull it.

^ That. I've never heard anyone actually use the Uranus joke. Though I have heard people pronounce it incorrectly because they just don't know better because of this strange pervasion of the joke pronunciation.

Sounds like I better enlighten you with some 12 year old humor

URANUS IS A GAS GIANT

URANUS IS ONE OF THE LARGEST THINGS IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM

ASTRONOMERS HAVE FOUND A DARK SPOT ON URANUS

URANUS IS SURROUNDED BY METHANE
Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more
More people, more scars upon the land

And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County
Down by the Green River where Paradise lay
Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking
Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away

Those are just statements. Doesn't really work over the internet, since I automatically read it the way it's meant to be pronounced.

Try reading it with it pronounced, "Your-##:1001"

Statements can be jokes

Oh, it censored that

He probably made a joke and decided someone of his caliber shouldn't have done so.
