Inspired by, and unofficially continuing the story of The Legend of Eulalia by TheTragedyofE on Redwall Wiki.

Long, long ago, even before the deeds of Lord Brocktree, before Salamandastron even, a great war was fought among the hares: the Southland Hares, and the Highland Hares, led by the bloodthirsty King Peregrin. All hope seemed lost when the fires of the North consumed the riverbanks—until a sheltered badgermaid, raised by the humble hares of the West Forest, stepped out of the valley's shadow.

The First Cry of the Mountain picks up the quill to conclude the unfinished legend of Eulalia. As the Northern vanguard marches and the Southern Council fractures, Eulalia and her companion Dolph must rise above the bickering factions to forge an unprecedented peace among the woodland creatures. This is the untold history of how a simple foster-daughter transformed into the legendary warrior whose very name became the time-honored battlecry of Salamandastron—and whose bloodline would safely carry the ancestry of the mountain's future protectors, charting the lineage of the Great Stripe Dog who would one day stand at the side of Lady Sable Brock.
