GM: Our adventure starts out in a town called Lumbridge. Men, elves, and freefolk from distant lands come here for opportunity for adventure and riches.
The sun is setting and darkness engulfs the town. You make your way to the local tavern, The Sliced Apple, to kick back and relax.

Inside the tavern, the numerous patrons from opposite corners of the world carry about their business when...
Just then, a rather large man bursts into the tavern with a scroll in hand and a determined look on his face. "I have a great offer for any willing adventurer" he shouted at the tavern occupants.
[How do you respond?]
Orahja sat in a corner by herself when the loud man came bursting threw the door with word of an adventure. She mulled it over in her mind. Should she really. She sighed realizing that she really had no choice and went over to the man. "What's in it for me?" She asked, though she did not care what he said.
OOC: Just assume she is talking with an accent I just stink at writing them so I won't. :P
GM: "Lord Fondalroy will handsomely reward willing participants in this quest," the man belted out. Clearly, he did not understand the concept of 'inside voices.'
From his leather parcel, he revealed a hefty bag of gold bullion.
[Do you question him further?]
She took one look at the money and said "I'm in,"
Guiliastes pranced up to the man gave a few half-hearted flaps to become airborn, to make herself high enough to sniff at the bag of gold. "I'll do it. And, since I volunteered, may I have a go at that feather in your cap?" Since the man had burst in, she had had a yearning to burn the feather to cinders, but supposed that it was more diplomatic of her to ask first.
He gave his solid answer.
[Do you question him further?]
Valik strode up to the man. "Valik Mistvane, Sorcerer of Wee Jas, at your service, sah. If you don't mind me asking, what's in it for me? I care little for gold, assisting the Monarch, or charitable adventuring. I see little gain for myself."
The man questioned Valik, "What dost thou seek-est?" He continued with the same energy as he had before, "ask and you may receive-est."

OOC: Please tell me Lumbridge is the only name you're stealing from Runescape
Gui huffed a slightly disappointed sigh, and then plotted to incinerate the feather when the man left the tavern. She took a peek at her soon-to-be companions. The human looked fun, and the elf... His hair was tempting. Very tempting. After looking back at the man, she idly wondered where his sleeve puff thingies had gone. Being part of the drakon family, she didn't know or care much about mortal fashions, but it bothered her a little.
Bryony Ravenhair had been sniffing a tankard (She had no clue what was in it) when the man burst in. She sighed loudly, as she had wanted to get off her feet, but considered his question. She had no taste for gold - She was a Healer, she could make money whenever she needed it....But, it was tempting. With a sigh, she took a sip, grimaced, tossed a coin on the table and strode up. "Alrigh. Ah'll joyin." She said coolly.
OOC: I say what she speaks before I type it, and spell it the way it would be pronounced. Just to make that clear.
Valik shrugged. "I seek to further myself, master the powers within me. Tell me your task, and if I deem it worthy, I shall consider."
Orahja rolled her eyes 'Great I've got a power hungry elf as a companion, A silly blue lizard who likes feathers and a naive female elf. This was going to be fun,' She thought with complete sarcasm.

BIC: "Some strange things have been occurring in the north," the man murmured in a gloomy tone.
"Lord Fondalroy wishes to send a party to investigate. They had received reports in that area about several mysterious cloaked individuals moving around from village to village...
...stealing odd items like old rusty carts as well as expensive crystals from the wizards."
[Do you question the man any further?]
Ezekiel made his way over to the shouting man "I am not like this elf, I do care for gold. Just how much is Lord Fondalroy offering?"
Gui moved a hair closer to the male elf with black hair. It was so shiny. When the man from Lord Fondalroy told the story, she looked at him. "The north? I have friends in the north... Sounds like fun!" What she didn't say was that the friends she mentioned were often ticked off at her.
"Lord Fondalroy?" Valik considered for a moment. "Yes, I shall accompany you. When do we leave?"
Bryony saw that the dragon had moved closer to the other elf, and raised an eyebrow. But she did not, however, say anything.
"Do ye know anythin' else about the strayngers?" Bryony asked, wanting more information.
OOC: Wrong elf! Sorry. I should have specified.
OOC: Whoopsie! Although, since her last name's Ravenhair, I would think that her hair would be black. *Shrugs* But red will do.
EIT: FIXED!
OOC: S'ok, you can have black hair... I just didn't think about that possibility.

“Lord Fondalroy will pay all of the party at least 900 gp or more a piece.” Oddly changing the subject to answer Bry, the man (you later found out to be named Nax) stated that the mysterious individuals both eluded discovery and capture. Nax declared that there were strange raids in the northern part of the wilderness.

OOC: Purple will do.....And please, no nicknaming my character! Sorry...I don't much like people messin' with my charries.
BIC: Bryony frowned, but let the subject go. "Ah'll meet ye back heuh in uh few minutes." She said, then walked back quickly to her table and gathreds up her things, noticing that a young elf had taken her dagger. She walked over to him and held out her hand, and he ignored her. She sighed, smacked him on the head and took her dagger back, and slapped him hard again. Once this was over, and put her dagger in it's customary spot, and strode back over. "Ready when ye are." She informed her companions, idly noticing that they all had yet to introduce themselves.
Zeke nodded "That seems an acceptable payment, you can consider Ezekiel Low part of your team" he grinned "this should prove entertaining"
Gui looked at the newly formed adventure group and grinned. This would be fun. "I'm Guiliastes the Fire Lizard, just come from the court of Shee-ir She'bagh. You can all call me Gui. I look forwards to working with you all." She looked at the man's feather again. "Hey, are you sure I can't have a go at the feather?"
Bryony shook her head at the little lizard. "Ah'm Bryony Ravenhair. It's nice tuh meet you, Ezekiel, and you, Gui."
OOC: Blue, I';m thinking Gui and Bryony hit it off and become instant BFFS....Just a thought.
Ezekiel inclined his head "It is nice to meet you too, I'd shake your hand but" he gave an apologetic smile and raised one of his clawed hands "I don't want to rip your arm open" he raised an eyebrow "I don't believe I caught your name"
"Bryony Ravenhair." The elf repeated, slightly annoyed.
OOC: Sounds good to me!
BIC: Gui suddenly gave Bryony a curious look. "Your hair. Is it naturally purple?" She was ignoring Ezekiel in a rather obvious manner, and she herself didn't really know why. However, the purple hair was more interesting at the moment anyways.
At Bryony's tone, Zeke gave a sheepish grin "Sorry, I tend not to pay attention to things" he licked the tips of his fang teeth "Do I have time for one more drink before we depart?"

"Yes, it is. My parents have no clue why." She said kindly, smiling at the inquisitive lizard. Then she turned to Zeke. "I noticed. I'll get used to it in time, I expect." Her tone wasn't what you would call warm, but it certainly wasn't frosty, either. More neutral.
Gui flapped off the ground, just high enough to sniff at the ends Bryony's hair. "Iya, it is really purple! How strange this would look in Shee-ir She'bagh!" Landing again, she started singing softly. "The violet grows on a bright hillside, the iris bloom on a rain-day. Pansies grow in the silken earth, but pick aster for my lady!"
Orahja rolled her eyes at the whole exchange. This was going to be a long trip. She was however looking forward to meeting these strangers in the north.
"So are we going to stand here all day or are we going to get going?" She said she already had everything she needed.

OOC: If it were to exist, is it a more middle eastern land or an Arabian land?
OOC: It's a rainforest. Well, now it is. At the dawn of the world it was a desert, and then people populated it and brought magic with them, and they brought too much water magic, so it became a rainforest. So, think Arabic/Indian style buildings in a rainforest.
You are exhausted from your long trek and you set up camp at the base of the mountain. The sun rapidly dips below the peaks causing the sky to radiate vibrant hues of reds and oranges. You slowly drift away into the night.

The next morning you wake up to thick enshrouding fog. After having a hearty breakfast, your party discusses the next action to take.
[Do you head northward through the fog?]
"Well this poses an interesting dilemma" said Ezekiel, attempting to peer through the fog "can't see a thing, what should we do? I personally am all for continuing through it but who knows what perils lurk in the mist"
Gui coughed, and then blew a fireball into the fog, as if hoping to diminish it. "Looks a bit... Thick."
Bryony had been silent, thinking her own thoughts the day before, and was now peering into the fog. "Ah vote thah we stay heuh." She did not discuss her reasons for this, however.
All of a sudden, three hill giants appear on a ledge above you. They are irate that you are trespassing in their valley. The brutes brandish their boulders at you as if they mean to hurl them down on your party.
*note: If you fight, just say what you attack with. I will determine how it hits.
[Do you fight?]
[Do you run?]
[Do you act diplomatically?]
"Um, geys?" Bryony said, looking up at the ledge, while slowly drawing her sword.
Ezekiel shook his head at Bryony "We should at least TRY to reason with them first" he held up his hand "Hold friends, we mean you no harm or offense, please let us pass and we will be quickly on our way"
Gui looked balefully at Ezekiel for taking over her job, but decided to keep quiet and let him do the diplomat-y stuff. She preferred fighting anyways.
Valik waved his arms about in a repetitive motion, firing bolt after bolt of arcane energy at the giants. "Magicae Telum!' he shouted.
"You idiot!" Ezekiel shrieked "I was trying to reason with them, I told them we meant no harm! Are you deaf or are you just arrogant?" He conjured up a ball of golden fire in his hand "For cat's sake" he flung the ball at the middle giant
OOC: I can tell this is going to be the start of a beautiful friendship ::)
"FIGHT!" Gui launched herself at the giants, roaring and blasting them with fire. It would have been an amazing sight had she been bigger...
You cant fight or reason with stone giants. Orahja thought though she did not say it out loud. She had done the one thing that none of the other idiots had tried to do which was obviously the smartest thing . Run, or at least get out of sight. Stone giants wielding boulders where not going to be stopped by flame or steal.
So much for diplomacy...
Mistvane's blasts flashed around the stone trio striking one wound to each. Ezekiel's golden orb appeared to have no effect on the middle giant. Gui's efforts managed to strike damage to the middle giant.
In the end, the left and right giant have one wound each and the middle giant took 2 wounds. (These giants have a health of 3 points).
Gui happily continued shooting flame everywhere. And roaring. Epically.
Zeke cursed then shot twin beams of fire from his hands at the middle giant, if he could not hurt the giants then he would at least try and knock them back
Gui's full out attack smashed the middle stone giant into a pile of boulders...
Zeke's fire beam smacked into the pile of rock hurling rock at the other two foes inflicting damage.
In the end, the middle giant was obliterated, and the other two ran off with their battle wounds.
YOU ARE VICTORIOUS!
[Do you take time to recover from the fight?]

Gui crowed a dragon-ish victory call. "That was fun! Let's do it again!"
I retaliate.
"That was a mistake. One does not attack a sorcerer of my caliber, half-fiend or no."
Valik formed an orb of lighting in each hand (Shocking Grasp) and grabbed Ezekiel's shoulders, coursing the electrical current through his arms and into the Warlock.
Gui stopped still and watched the fight gleefully. Had this not been a fight of honor, she might have joined in. But, as fire lizards are an honorable species, (all but Gui's great-grandfather, Zuko Fireprince), she would not spoil the fight. And she was hungry.

OOC: OMIGOSH. Unknown, you are the coolest! That is my favorite bit of art yet.
Zeke's hands lit up with fire "Then maybe sorcerers of your caliber should not senselessly slaughter sentient beings without at least trying the peaceful option" he shot a stream of fire at the elf "What caliber of sorcerer are you exactly?"
Valik said nothing, but attempted a risky trick. He cast Ghost Sound to cause an illusory sound of a dragon screeching behind Zeke, and then looked up behind him in horror, hoping to distract him, ducked, rolled, and sent a swarm of magic missiles flying at Zeke.
OOC: That would be a Bluff check, if you want to roll. (+8, CHA +4 and 4 points in Bluff) Otherwise, idk.
Zeke didn't bother to look behind him, realizing that Valik was the only one of the party seemingly horrified by whatever it was the elf had done. Zeke cursed and flew up in to the air where he hovered, watching "Well elf, what caliber of sorcerer are you?"
Smoldering slightly, Valik responded. "I am an illusionist and master of evocation, I have summoned creatures from the depths of the Abyssal Plane and the Nine Hells, I have put highborn wizards with a long lifetime of careful practice to shame. I have studied many things, from a Cleric's connection from their deity to the earth beneath our feet. I have reasoned with many beings, and destroyed many others who defy reasoning. I will do as I wish and as I must, and if you do not hinder me, I have no quarrel with you. Stand down, and you are forgiven for your slight. I have no wish to fight you." He turned his back. "Oh, and for the record- The last time I tried to reason with a giant, my party got eaten. We're lucky we could destroy them, we'd be dead as a doornail otherwise."
"How very interesting" said Zeke "Summoned creatures from the depths of the Abyssal Plane and the Nine Hells eh? Who knows? You may even have summoned my father, now THAT would be impressive" he calmly descended to the ground before addressing his next point "Giants are sentient beings, it is unfair to stereotype them all as the same. Why I once knew a giant who was a pacifist and had dedicated his life to music and poetry. He wasn't very good mind you but his heart was in the right place" before turning away he addressed one final point of Valik's "I stand down because I understand your reasoning for attacking the giants, understand but do not condone, and not because I do not wish to incur your wrath, I have little doubt I could defeat you"
Bryony had unwillingly stayed out of the first fight because the others were shooting things everywhere, and she did NOT want to get fried. Not. At. All. Now she was rolling her eyes at the seemingly stupidity of the guys. "Males. Always so stupid." She muttered, then walked over. "Alright, alright! Let's cut this out and get on the road." She roared. She could be quite scary when shew wanted to be, and this was one of those times. Glowering at them, she waited for their response.
Zeke jabbed a finger at Bryony "That is also an unfair stereotype, not all men are the same just as not all giants are the same, honestly. Women" he said the last in a tone that was impossible to mistake for sincerity. He picked at his claws, apparently disinterested in the shouting elf "I 'cut it out' about thirty seconds ago, didn't you notice?"
Bryony just rolled her eyes, and started walking the right way. "Coming, or no?"
"Of course" Zeke set off at a brisk pace "Nine hundred gold pieces is nothing to sniff at. If I recall correctly however, you were all for staying here until the fog dispersed and now you want us to get moving, why is that?"
"Alright - Let's stay here and wait for the other giants!" Bryony said sarcastically with false cheerfulness, spinning around.
Gui had enough. "Girls, girls, you're both pretty. Can we go on now? I'm not in this adventure to watch a bunch of teenagers squabble over what color posy to attach to their wings." She started walking off, her tail lashing in an annoyed manner. "If, however, you would rather fight amongst yourselves, stay here or go back."
Bryony laughed, and walked after Gui. After a bit, she said, "Actually, I'm no teenager. But thank you for the compliment!" She was cheerful now. The way Gui expressed her annoyance had most definitely brightened her mood.
Zeke threw up his hands in exasperation, sending a few little golden sparks flying out of his fingertips "Whenever I try to make peace, another war springs up! What is an Infernal to do when he's in a feud with his traveling companions?" He shot an angry look at Gui "I am not a child dragon, do not patronize me"
OOC: I'm getting the feeling that this was a very bad group to come together
After that gauntlet, the party followed a narrow path that led along the mountain side. Orahja mused that it was safer to take the high ground to be able to spot giants or other vile creatures.

"Shall we set up camp?" Bryony asked.
Zeke shrugged "Why not?" he shot a fireball at a pile of sticks and twigs "There's our campfire"
Bryony laughed, for the fiurst time. She didn't know why, she just did.
Gui looked at Bryony and Ezekiel, having remained frostily silent for the entire day. "To me, you are children, and if you ACT as children, I will treat you as such."
"Alright." Bryony said, smiling. The little lizard was a great person.
"Fine with me," Orahja said. She did not particularly think it was a good idea to go into the woods at night. "Though I suggest that we find a more sheltered place some where we will not be spotted by every enemy on the mountain and in the forest alike. I'll take first watch," She said

Zeke nodded "It feels.... wrong"
"Aye." Bryony agreed, shuddering again.
Gui sniffed at the air, a worried look on her face. "It feels big."
"It feels like just before a storm... See you can't hear a sound not a bird not a breeze, just quite," Orahja said she was not particularly scared of the weather but it did make her sprite sink. There was something out there. Something more than just a storm. She placed a hand on the hilt of the dirk as they walked feeling that she might need it.

I cast Light on my hand, making it glow as brightly as a torch. With this and my Elven Racial Low-light vision, I should be able to see up to 60ft away from my hand. What do I see?
Gui lit the tip of her tail with a tiny tongue of fire and held it up. "This is worse than not seeing a lindwyrm before it strikes at you!"
So much for just a storm, Orahja thought. She drew her dirk. She was used to the dark. A thief had to be. Though her eyes sight was not as good as an elf. However her ears where sharp and she should be able to locate where the sound was coming from. (Where is the sound coming from?)
"Gui, what's a lindwyrm?" Bryony asked, her accent mangling the word horrifically. She held her lantern up, drawing her sword. She squinted, but couldn't really see anything.
Zeke's hands lit up with fire "They're a type of dragon" he said, answering for Gui "they have wings and forelegs but no back legs, I can't tell you any more than that, I'm not too familiar with them"
"Ah." Bryony said, then whirled around. "What was 'at?" She whispered. She had distinctly heard a twig snap.
Gui laughed. "A jungle lindwyrm, Ezekiel, not a plains lindwyrm. They are like snakes, massive snakes, with bodies thicker than tree-trunks, but they have front legs. No wings, though. Or, if they have wings, they are small wings. None but birds, bugs, and fire lizards can fly in the jungles."
"Very nice." The elf said, still looking at one spot.
Gui sent a lazy jet of fire in the direction Bryony was looking. "Come out, or I'll roast you!"
Despite your best efforts, you cannot make anything out. Suddenly, your lights go out. A cold chill overwhelms you. A dark voice whispers to you.

"A Dragonblood does not retreat." I want to cast Light on my hand, as powerfully as I can.
Rolling her eyes, Gui grabs the back of Mistvane's collar with her teeth. "Bonehead. Get over yourself. You wouldn't be so crass as to leave a maiden or two to flee alone with little protection?" She gestured at Bryony and Orajha. "Maidens. Of classes less suited for defense." Then she pointed at the conflict before them. "Danger. Yadda? Help get them out of here, and then, if you really are in a hurry to die, you can come back and get yourself killed. Or hinder our savior over there, which might get both of you killed."
"I am not a protector. I think you'll want Zeke for that. But yes, your point is valid. You should go. I will as well, but not far. I wish to speak with this man... Or creature, as the case may be." I duck behind a hill and extinguish my light.
Rar. Gui sighs and turns away. "Fine. I'm not paying for the funeral fees."
The warrior and monster battle each other, engulfing themselves in a haze of dark cloud and lightning. The conflict created such a terrible flash and roar that loose rock on the surrounding cliffs plummeted into the valleys below. Whirling vortexes and blinding thunderbolts roared throughout the night.

The next morning, burnt trees and smashed rocks are scattered all over the landscape.

OOC: Hey, dude, where's the pictures? And could you slow down just a tad?
OOC: I'll wait. ;D Keep posting.
OOC: Okay.......
BIC: Bryony had been rolling her eyes at the argument, and had merely been staying because everyone else was. Now, the next morning, she was surveying the rather destroyed landscape. She started looking for Mistvane, clearing up a bit as she did so. The others were still asleep, and she grinned, watching the puffs of smoke coming from Gui's nostrils as she grabbed a large tree branch towards a tidy pile.
OOC: Very slight PP there. Y'all want me to change it?
OOC: Sorry about the confusion. Please read reply #106 (the one a few posts above this with the images)
@Cornflower: What do you mean by PP?
OOC: I couldn't see the images. That's why I asked. Then you told me to keep posting. So, I did.
PP is Power Play. Using someone else's character without permission. In this case, my PP would be the puffs of smoke rising from Gui's nose, and the fact that the rest of them were sleeping.
OOC: Sorry for the double post, but guys? Are you going to post?
OOC: Sorry! I kept having to do other stuffs when I was about to post....
BIC: Gui woke up with a start, sending an accidental fireball in Ezekiel's direction. "Ouf! What? When? Where?" After taking in her surroundings, she flapped a few feet into the air and began casting about for Mistvane half-heartedly. "Water-brained elf. I hope he at least got a few scratches from that bout of foolishness."
Zeke waved his hand tiredly and deflected the fireball away from himself. He had been awake long before the others, he never slept much
"Only a few though." Bryony said, heaving the branch onto the pile. She turned, and saw Zeke wave his hand. "Ah know ye're awake, Ezekial." She said, trying to spund a bit motherly.
Gui looked back at Ezekiel and snorted. "Show off. Can't you get hit for once?" She turned back to her search, softly humming a song in a language that sounded suspiciously like the crackling of fire mingled with the screams of dying souls.
Bryony raised an eyebrow at Gui's humming, but said nothing.
Ezekiel scowled "Seeing as I am sitting up and not lying down, I should have thought that was obvious" his back protested as he got wearily to his feet "Son of a Drevak" he muttered "I've been awake for three hours and only now my body decides it doesn't want to get up, absolutely bloody typical" he turned his head to Gui "I would rather not be hit by dragonfire if it's all the same to you, once was enough, never again"
OOC: Bryony is only 155, Zeke is 425, she's a bit too young to try being motherly to someone over 400
Gui kept humming, the crackling and screams giving way to the sound of rain in a forest and the calls of wild sirens.
Orahja sat up they where all awake she might as well get up. She went over to the debris and gave it a kick. She didn't see a point in looking for him. he was most likely dead anyway.
Have I regained consciousness?

OOC: Bryony is only 155, Zeke is 425, she's a bit too young to try being motherly to someone over 400
OOC: Well, yes, but that doesn't mean she can't try it! Anyways, it you never know - It could be a sign she's warming up to him.
OOC: According to the 3.5 PHB, 150-60 is defined as middle age for an elf. At around that age, I think being somewhat motherly in general isn't strange.
OOC: Fair enough
Gui gave up on looking for Mistvane and rolled happily around in a pile of ashes, still humming, only her song had changed back to fire and screaming.
Valik woke to panic, heavy stones on top of him. Reflexively, he used his magic to push the pile of debris up, away from him, and heavily onto the ground. He groaned, he had been injured by the heavier junk.
The fire lizard squeaked and scuttled away as the pile of rocks landed dangerously near her. However, being an inquisitive individual, Gui crept around the pile of rocks to peak at the other side. "He's alive! And wounded." Gui sighed and turned away. "Told you staying was a bad plan."
Orahja skater as well as smaller debris flew in her direction. She raised her arms over her head to prevent injury but also drew her dirk. When Gui said that is Was Mistvain she relaxed but did not go to help him. It was not her fault that he was messed up. She could not help him much anyway.
Bryony heard the word 'Injured' and immediately ran over, dropping a rock on her foot in the process. "Mistvane! Wot herts?" She asked, glancing over him, then going to get her pack, which had her healing things in it.
Gui ignored the fuss over the finding of their companion and took to the air, much higher than she had gone before. "I'm going to go see if I can find the knight from last night. And food." With that sparse explanation, she flew in widening circles, eventually disappearing into the smoke.
OOC Unknown? Rus?
OOC: I was preoccupied for awhile....
BIC: Mistvane appeared to be holding what looked like a rather large gem. It seemed to have the appearance of a shiny glass brick. The pail elf recounted the few memories he had of the encounter with the mysterious warrior. One thing the warrior said stood out in his mind, "Keep it safe..."
[Do you search the surrounding area?]
[Do you head North]
[Do you send a messenger falcon back to Lord Fondalroy?]
Valik noticed the gem in his hand, and remembered the previous night. He stowed it in his pocket as quickly as he could, then stood up and turned to Bryony. "I'm fine, nothing is badly injured. Miracle, really."
"Look it these scrapes!" Bryony scolded as she got a jar of salve out of the bag. "Mind if Ah put this on?" She asked, unscrewing the lid.
Suddenly, Gui smelled something... Shiny. Folding her wings, she abandoned her search for food and dropped straight down, opening her wings just before hitting Mistvane's head. "Psst. Elf. What's with the shiny object?" She said it in a whisper, having noticed that the scent of the shiny felt as if it had been hastily shoved into a pocket.
Mistvane brushed Gui off and didn't mention the object any further; he was clearly deep in thought.
After some much needed rest, your party journeyed northward to village named Dark Hollow. It was dubbed this due to its dark woodsy surroundings as well as mysterious occurrences that transpired in that region. There was an outpost here where you were instructed to inform Lord Fondelroy's officers of your findings.
[Do you head over to the outpost?]
[Do you have a look around town?]
Ezekiel let his gaze sweep across the immediate area "Well this looks like a very friendly place" he cocked his head to one side "I think we should explore, exploring's always good"
"Agreed," Orahja said, she would prefer sneaking around in the night any time to talking diplomacy in a cramped brightly lit room.
Gui pouted until they got near the outpost. Suddenly, she darted into the surrounding woods. "Be right back!"
"Who's waytin' by thuh outpos'?' Bryony asked, hoping that if it was her, then she'd not be alone.
So.... You have a look around town. You locate the usual shops and stores. Though you notice most all the black smith and metalworking shops have a closed sign on them.
[Do you investigate?]
[Do you give second thoughts about going back to the outpost?]
Orahja went up to the nearest blacksmith shop and tried to see if she could look inside. She tried the door and if that didn't work she would try the windows.
The door was boarded up so that no one could get in. Peering through the window, you saw that there wasn't a scrap of metal to be found.
"We should ask around" Zeke said "find out why all the blacksmiths are closed. Is there an inn somewhere? It might be those scavengers we were sent to find"
"Aye, raight theyuh." Bryony said, then the elf pointed. Right behind Zeke.
After asking around, you discover that it appears that your "mystery" robbers, oddly enough, have stolen most all of the iron ore and smelting equipment. You surmise from this that they are building something.
[Do you inquire at the outpost? (hint hint...)]
"Lets ask at the out post," Orahja said. She knew when to turn in.
''Alriigh'." Bryony agreed. Then the elf started for th outpost.
Once inside the fortified structure, you were met by a rather fat man with stubby nose and a glazed expression on his face. After taking notice of your party he bluntly asked, "Are you another one-ah Fondelroy's expedition parties."
[What do you tell/ask this official?]
"Depens on why ya wanna know." Bryony said, sassing on purpose.
Gui popped through the door triumphantly, having been missing since she left earlier. "Sorry! I was visiting an old haunting ground nearby." Pulling her bottomless bag out of her ear, she stuck her nose in and rooted around, finally coming up with another bag. "Found a sack of potatoes!"
"I meant crystals...." Focusing his attention on Gui, "Shiny objects...."
Continuing on, he stated, "I have plenty of supplies in stock that I was instructed to give to you. However you will get more of a reward for any crystals you find." Turning to Mistvane he added, "The wizards to the north lost what looks like a golden glass brick for their light beacon. We would like to return it to them" The royal official seemed very sincere though something was amiss. You couldn't quite determine what it was. Thus, you refrained from mentioning the encounter with the dark monster or the knight.
You spent the night in the adjacent rooms next to the outpost where you enjoyed hot baths, delectable dishes, and cozy silken beds. Later, you went to bed refreshed but a sense of some foreboding evil lurked in your mind...
In the night, you heard the soft banging of someone outside your room complex. After checking to see who it was, a man dressed in attire that only a low ranking sorcerer would wear appeared in the doorway. He had a face of terror and urgency. "You must leave here at once!" he commanded trying to control his frantic words. "They have have captured my fellow brethren and tortured them to reveal secrets of our guild. Now they are using you to retrieve the last Stone of Protection."
[What do you do?]
Orahja jumped to her feet and grabbed her things and was ready to depart in seconds. She did not want to wast any time.
Bryony was now whirling around the room, gathering her things. She was ready to go quite soon also, and was busy hopping from foot to foot silently.
Zeke gathered up his things and stood by the window "If the rest of you aren't ready in two minutes, I'm leaving without you"
"Potatoes." Gui woke up with a start and darted out the window. "Ready!"
"Ah'm reddy." Bryony declared, sitting on the windowsill.
OOC: I hope you guys find this roleplay alright. It appears to have been moved.
It will be a day or two till I can post a reply.
Just letting you fellow roleplayers I'm not dead. (not yet)
OOC: I'm still here. Impatiently here, but here nonetheless.
OOC: Ditto.
OOC: Likewise
OOC: Please see Front Lawns.
You were only able to take some of your gear before you heard the loud clanging of foot soldiers. You could hear a commander shouting, "THERE THEY ARE, GET THEM!" In a rush of terror energy, you bolt after the sorcerer apprentice.
After rushing through some brush and stagnant bogs, a rather tall fortress cut into the rock is visible. Arrows fly past you as you sprint the last few hundred feet to the gate entrance. A wizard sentry shouted a command to open the gates triggering the massive doors to swing open. You hurl yourselves through the opening just as they close the mighty doors. You are safe. ....for the time being.
[What is your next action?]
