Today, on the first anniversary of Brian Jacques' passing, we commemorate his life and legacy. The discussion thread can be found here.

Now please, raise your tankards and flagons in toast to a great man and his world like none other. To Brian Jacques, that his memory always live with us.

*pauses to drink and have a moment of silence*

Now then, would anyone else care to raise a toast?

To Brian Jacques, the Teller of Tales and the Weaver of Dreams,
You showed us what it meant to be a hero and a warrior;
Your legacy will live forever in our hearts and on our bookshelves.
Start building something beautiful and just put the hate away

To Brian Jacques, who changed the lives of millions, even those who never met him! May his legacy live on and may he rest in peace in the land of sunny slopes he wrote of!

Amen to that. :) Mr Jacques, you were indeed the true Teller of Tales and filled my head with incredible, amazing stories, and you wove many wonderful dreams for me to have. I am thankful for all I learned from you, even though I never met you, and I wish that one day I could learn to write as skillfully as you. *raises a takard of pure springwater and hold it in the air for a moment of silence, then takes a small sip*

Although, on another note, why is a topic like this in the Cellars? I would think this that something this serious and wonderful would belong elsewhere.
