Wylder Treejumper

Pardon me, m'lady. My name is Robin Hood, which anyone in all of England should surely know! As for these strange beasts *indicating the humans and Scrappy* I know not of.

In the darkness of the trees shone two pink eyes, as a horrible abomination watched the gathered creatures. It was the most awful of things, with spoons clenched in its ape-like arms. Ears resembling the horns of a devil rose out of its head, and long whiskers drooped over its nose. And its face! Oh, that face! It was a black hole of nothingness, with those awful eyes being the only discernible feature. Created when reality ripped apart, it was one of those things most horrible in anyone's memory, anywhere.

It was...a politician.

OOC: Oh dear, we're losing steam here with one day to go.

The Abbot adjusted his glasses and stared at the fox.

"You're not from around here are you?  This is no Mossflower fox for sure.  Arya can you please show these beings around and to some beds for the night?  Be sure to take a torch with you....we wouldn't want you to get lost in Redwall at night."

Scrappy snorted at the comment.  "Nobody's gonna sneak up on me, ruff!  I don't get lost."  With that, he asked rather point blank, "So you're not part of the community candy group?"

"No I don't think I am," said the Abbot, not really understanding the question, and just felt it was better to try to get the creatures off somewhere so they wouldn't disturb the rest of the abbey at night.  They really did seem harmless enough and there's not a lot they really could've found in the abbey.  With that, he took the torch from Scrappy and started walking inside.

The shadow lord pushed his way past the others, intent on getting to where the drinks were stored. He suspected that the abbeybeasts might have a magical brew of some sort, or, at the very least, coffee.

OOC: It ends tonight! C'mon, people! BIC:

"Of course, Father Abbot. Come on, we don't want to lose him." Arya said, waving her paw in the direction of the Shadow Lord before doing a quick curtsy t the Abbot and starting to walk off.

Lutra

OOC: Last day, then I am transforming back to my normal otterly self.

Scrappy looked at the Abbot as he went inside. "Where's the food?  I'm awfully hungry after walking so far."

The Abbot pointed down a lighted hallway.  "You'll find the kitchens down that way.  There may be some mushroom pastie or October Ale left that the cooks usually munch on though it is awfully late to eat."

"Mushroom what?" asked Scrappy, not quite understanding the terminology.  "You don't have pizza?"

"I wouldn't know what that is young son," said the Abbot yawning.  "You'll have to see what is there.  You might be surprised if you give it a chance."

Scrappy needed no other temptation, and ran off down the hallway.  "Food here I come!"

Robin shrugged. "Well, I suppose I could stay the night. Marian probably doesn't want me to travel when it is this dark anyways." He shrugged his bow off of his shoulder.

"In the meantime, no one should roam the camp alone. Use the buddy system."
"Understood." Will looked at Nico. "Will you be my buddy?"
"You're a dork," Nico announced.

OOC: Actually, Wylder's right, in a way: It's spelled 'Marian,' I believe, in the Disney movie. BIC:

Arya sniffed in disdain as the dog ran past her. "He'll get lost in a minute." She predicted.

Robin sighed. "No doubt."

He turned to the abbot. "Father, do you by any chance have a few crowns for the poor of Nottingham? They really are hurting right now- Prince John's been taxing the heart and soul from them, and I've had not a rich lord 'donate' for a while now."

Arya overheard that, and looking at the fox strangely, she said, "Crowns? No. Why do you want something you wear on your head for decoration?" Personally, Arya thought the cheese had slipped off his cracker, but didn't say anything.

Robin cocked his head at her. "Crowns? Like, money? Gold coins? What you use to buy food, pay taxes, taxes, and more taxes, and take care of your children with?"

The Abbot looked at the fox quizzically.  "I do not know what crowns are.  We are simple Abbey folk who help travelers who wander by who are good of heart and spirit.  I'm sorry we cannot help you with that."  Abbot Martin looked back down the hallway to where Scrappy had run the moment before.  "Arya, can you please make sure that....thing doesn't wake the whole abbey with his yelling?"

Not that it would have mattered as Scrappy had already found the kitchens but opened three other wooden doors, peeking in and saying "Any food in here?" before shutting them again.  As the Abbot had predicted, the kitchens were deserted, but leftover food from the day's meal, and breakfast pies were cooling on the wooden counters.  Scrappy didn't hesitate to sample the closest one, standing on top of a bag of flour to reach the countertop.

"'Mhmmm, blackberry," he mumbled between bites.  "Better than anything I ever get to eat back home."  Half the pie was gone before Scrappy noticed a flask on the table, filled with water, which he guzzled down in no time.

"A very commendable task that you have set yourself my dear mouse. But do you have any idea how we got here? Any recent phenomena? And do you happen to have any feasts going on right now? I would love to dine, for I have marched long miles to reach your doorstep. But what can I say, except that the road goes ever on?" said Theoden to the Abbot. Standing with his back to the gatehouse.
Dreams, dreams are untapped and writhing. How much more real are dreams than that paltry existence which we now call reality? How shall we ascend to that which humanity is destined? By mastering the dreamworld of course. That is how, my pupils, that is how.

Robin laughed. "Well, you could say, 'Where's the food?'!!!"
