The Skarzs

. . . But for some reason randomly posted it here.
Dunno why here exactly. . .

Shadowed One

You could have all the gruesome things, (and Redwall doesn't have many) and still be relatively kid friendly. I mean with all the things they allow in G and PG movies now days, you could easily have a kids movie with all the things in Redwall.
Martin the Warrior is way more epic than Mickey Mouse. Anyone who says otherwise is insane, or just wrong.

Jewel Thief

Hmm, animated, as in Nelvana-style and not Mossflower Movie-style?
Lessee then...
NONE
Hey Jewel thief where do you get, all those silver pistols?
Hey Jewel thief where do you get, all those arrowheads?

I actually like to so all the books animated. Or atleast have more graphic novels.

All the creatures of Redwall are put on the same plain in the books, making it cannibalism. Either way, it'd still be gross.

I don't think that means it's cannibalism. It really isn't.  I wouldn't mine the animal eating animal thing, but than I watch a lot of animal shows and I'm not disturbed by it.

Those would be good.

Being careful about it would be more important, though I don't think a little blood would normally scar a child's mind. As to the cannibalism, it need not be animated; only mentioning it would be necessary.

As I believe I've said before, I would define cannibalism in a more general sense- A self-aware, sentient creature eating another self-aware, sentient creature is wrong, regardless of species.

And besides, it doesn't matter either way- Those creatures ate those of their own kind. I believe it's mentioned. Heavily implied, certainly. Although I doubt they would slaughter their own soldiers, I have no doubt they would eat them should they die.

Tiria Wildlough

Isn't it specifically said that Gulo ate his father? Forgive me if I'm wrong, I haven't read it in ages.

Deyna the Warrior

Well, to be honest, I don't really like the idea of Redwall being animated. I feel like it's mostly just a disappointment, because I find every single variation of the book annoying... But that's just because I'm stubborn  ;)

But I guess the real bloody ones would be hard to put in a cartoon...

-Deyna the Warrior
Warriors brave, who gave all you could give,
Offered your lives so that others would live,
No one can tell what my heart longed to say
When I had to leave here, and you had to stay.

I totally agree. Books and movies tend to be incompatible. An author writes the skeleton of a story and the reader fleshes out the details with their imaginations, while the producer forces their own imagination upon the viewers.

By the way, welcome to the forum, Deyna! You might consider introducing yourself in the intro topic in the Front Lawns.
"'Tis the business of small minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."
-Thomas Paine

"Integrity and firmness is all I can promise; these, be the voyage long or short, shall never forsake me although I may be deserted by all men."
-George Washington
