The thread I made about changes that could be made to animate Tales got to thinking about ones I wouldn't want to see adapted. There were 22 of them and they can't all make good cartoon show material!

Off the top of my head, the last 4 books in the series--Eulailia! through The Rogue Crew--which were all too busy, too long, too crowded and too violent to adapt like the early books. And that coming from someone who likes The Sable Quean and The Rogue Crew!

What about you guys? What Tales do you think that, for whatever reason, wouldn't/couldn't work as a cartoon  ???

Um...I don't really have any! No, stratch that: Triss. It just.....Wouldn't. And, I want to know why everyone thinks that Eulalia! is too long,. bloody, and/or just not up to Redwall standard. It just makes no sense to me.

Agreed.

Romsca

I think The Bellmaker would be too difficult. And Pearls of Lutra. As much as I like that story, the way that they portray Romsca might not be accurate. If they made her look like that awful picture on the top of chapter 40... >:(

MeadowR

I don't think any story would be beyond animating - as long as they did a good job of it.

What cannibalism  ???

There was no cannibalism in RT. Just predators eating prey.

(UGH, I hate how animal stories totally miss the concept... >:()

Dannflower Reguba

All the creatures of Redwall are put on the same plain in the books, making it cannibalism. Either way, it'd still be gross.

.L0AMHEDGE!. That would be a COMPLETE remake of Mattimeo, plus, it would be SUPER boring.

But I want the originality of me.

I'm not dissing it- Aside from that factor, I enjoyed it. However, the idea of cannibalism is not one that I can deal with- At one point in my life, the mere idea of it was enough to haunt me. That's the main reason I'm vegetarian- I don't want to be eaten, so I don't feel right eating anything else capable of the same thought, animal or not. To this day, the vague mention is enough to creep me out and set my heart beating faster. I find it that horrifying.

I would argue that in a fantasy or sci-fi setting, where multiple intelligent races exist, cannibalism would refer to any intelligent life eating any other- Exact species makes it no less of a crime.

The Skarzs

I could discuss your. . . ideas with you for hours, but I won't.

Loamhedge would be a rather dull one to see animated, wouldn't it? BJ made it interesting and unique, but I can see it getting repetitive in an animated one.

You have a point there. I thought all of the books would be great, but Loamhedge might not be as good (even though I love it).

The Skarzs

And I cannot see them picturing Bragoon and Saro's deaths very well. In fact, they might even remove that part, basically saying they went on travelling.
