For me, it was Redwall. That was the one my brother gave to me, and it was actually the first novel I read from start to finish. I was in year 2. That got me hooked, and I moved on to The Bellmaker, which was a big mistake, I definitely should have read Mariel of Redwall before. Next came Eulalia!, which my mum got me for Christmas. I don't know which one I read after that!
Received mostly negative reviews.

I read Mossflower first, I got it for Christmas when I was nearly eight. As soon as I started, I fell in love. :)

Mossflower...I read it before Redwall, and now I wish I hadn't. :-\

Redwall Musician

I read Martin the Warrior first. At first I didn't know if I wanted to continue reading the really long books (I knew it was a series), but I soon fell in love with the characters, and here I am now. Being a person with a Redwall addiction.

I got a three-pack of books at a school book fair in the fifth grade, being Redwall, Mossflower and Mattimeo.  I read them in that order and fell right in love, then from there read them in the order they were written.

Another vote for "Redwall" being the first.  Then I decided to go in publication order with Mossflower, Mattimeo.... etc.  I think you'll find most here started with Redwall.
