When I bought Escape the Gloomer from Steam, I only installed 0 MB worth of files. Can someone teach me how to recover the necessary files for ETG?

LordTBT

That's strange. I'd contact Clopas about it.

MathLuk

So does anyone have a solution?
Please?

The Skarzs

TBT should get back to you soon about it. Check back tomorrow, maybe he will have found something out.

I've never heard of something like that happening through steam, it sounds odd for sure. If it installed 0Mb the first time, I'd recommend uninstalling it from your steam library and re-downloading it. Also check your computer's folder libraries for folders which might have the same names as installation files and all that. I know I'm spit-balling ideas here, but it could be that all the information is being downloaded just fine but being sent to the wrong folders. Hard to say for certain, but give those a shot and let us know if it works out. We'll try to help you out!

Thank you all for your support, but I still cannot receive the files after following your advice. Maybe there is some glitch?
P.S. The Scout is fully operational

Hi!

Some questions MathLuk.

1) What computer are you using Mac or Pc?
2) How much free disk space do you have?
3) Does Steam say it completed installing?

MathLuk,

Just some quick clarification/FYI: Scott, who replied to you above is the head of the Clopas Development team. I'm their Community Manager.
Once we have the answers to Scott's questions, we'll see what we can do to help.  ^-^

MathLuk

4) Are you using a standard steam install or did you modify any settings?
5) what version of OS are you running?
6) How do you know you only installed 0mb? What are you using to check that?

Thanks for bearing with us on this. We are currently stumped but hopefully will get this sorted out for you.

MathLuk

4. Standard Steam Install
5. Mojave
6. By using Omni Disk Sweeper to check the size of contents within the folder which should contain the game files

P.S. Every time I try to uninstall and re-download, it only takes about 5 seconds before nothing is changed.

Mathluk,

We brought in a new Mac computer with Mohave OS to try and reproduce the issue you are having. Fresh install of Steam and downloaded the game normally. We weren't able to get the same error you showed above.

Also we checked Steam Support and they suggest:

1) Clearing your download cache
2) Change download regions

https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithGameIssue/?appid=930630&issueid=701

Do either of those help?

If not, check here:

If you get it up and running (or not), let us know what the issue was.

MathLuk

Both of the measures had no effect.

There is no files size shown on the install window.

Still 0MB

MathLuk

Would it be a good idea to reinstall the entire Steam app?
