Homeschool.  ;D

I went to a private school for my first year, then homeschooled the rest.  After that I attended a community college in my hometown and earned an Associate of Arts degree.

Making friends was never an issue when I was homeschooled.  There were other social activities and events I attended where I made friends.  Of course, I was always the type where I didn't feel a great need for many friends.  Just a few close ones and that made me happy.  :)

Just because I was homeschooled though makes me in no way feel 'superior' to anyone that was not.  One of my very best and closest friends was public schooled.  :)
Never give up.

Puplic, because you can't make new friends if you stay at home!

I'm homeschooled and actually have no problems making friends. It's the public schoolers who usually don't know how to make friends with me. They're like, "So, do you play sports?"
Me: "Ummm, I could. But I only understand basketball and I'm too short to be on a team."
"Do you have friends?"
"Do you have issues?"
I get annoyed with the questions and they never ask things like "What do you like to do?" or "Do you want to join us?"

So most of my friends are homeschoolers and out going and talk a lot.

It's not like Homeschoolers stay at home 24/7. We do have chances to go out into the real world....In fact, I'd say we have more chances than the average public schooler who has to stay in a classroom for several hours 5 days a week for most of the year.
Living in peace, aye many a season,
Calm in life and sound in reason,,
'Til evil arrives, a wicked horde,
Driving a warrior to pick up his sword,
The challenger rings then, straight and fair,
Justice is with us, beware. Beware!

I'm living proof that that statement is false, Coobreedan.

I make friends at church, in homeschool groups (generally a group of homeschool families who get together to do stuff, field trips for instance), and just around the neighborhood, and I don't have an ordinary job yet, so that would open more opportunities.

I'm homeschooled, needless to say.
I think homeschooling is better.  You have a better chance to adjust the curriculum and study methods that suit the individual person better, not to mention being able to teach various things that aren't taught in public schools.  I'm not saying that smart people don't come out of public and private schools, because that's not always true, nor am I saying that homeschooling is perfect, since the parent (or teacher) does have to be involved in the person's schooling and if they're not, they won't do well.

There's lots of variations, mainly due to the fact that people aren't the same, so you'll end up with some parents who don't know what they're doing or how to do it, but as a rule, homeschoolers get exposed to a lot less garbage as a result.

Yep!  Homeschoolers DO have friends!  There are a lot of opportunities for making friends....church...camps.....homeschool groups....clubs...sports...extracurricular activities (for me, horseback riding) It's so nice to be able to say to my friends in public school, "Wow, that sounds pretty bad.....no student has EVER shot a bullet through the window of MY school at night.   Nope, there are no drugs used in my school...outside of Advil and Mucinex."
It's also much harder to keep your parents from hearing about you goofing off in class....you can't exactly give the teacher a fake phone number claiming it's your parents' number....  :P
In short:
HOMESCHOOLING IS AWESOMELY AMAZINGLY COOL!!!![/u][/b]

I've been homeschooled all my life and never want to go to a public school.

When your homeschooled there's no bullies, you don't stay in school from 8 to 3, your never late, and other things I can't think about right now!

UI have to go with Public school.  I'm really proud of my public schooling.  I feel like one of the most important parts of my education was learning from dozens of different and amazing teachers.  I believe that is the essence of a well-rounded education.  If I had only learnd from my parents I feel I'd be a much less open-minded, less accepting person.  I've had teachers of all races, backgrounds, religions, political standpoints, sexual orientations etc.

Some of my favorite parts of school never would have happened at home or private school.  I was in numerous music ensembles in school.  While you can take lessons and join groups outside of school, I've done both and the school experience is like no other.  So much fun, great camaraderie, and I learned a lot about getting along with people and appreciating the fun side of classical and jazz music.

I loved my foreign language classes.  I took French, Spanish, Japanese, and best of all German in high school.  I am still friends with my German teacher to this day.  He was responsible for me getting to go to Germany to study abroad on scholarship.

I did attend a Catholic private school briefly.  I lasted a week before I begged my mother to transfer me.  I did not grow up Catholic, my family is non-religious.  The kids were quite mean to me, there was no music program, no foreign language beside Spanish, a tiny school library, and we had to attend mass and religion and I just didn't believe in any of it so it made it quite uncomfortable for me (now as an adult I practice Buddhism).  I am glad I got to leave.  I feel I would've been bullied come high school.  In public school I was bullied some but I had so many friends it wasn't as bad as it could've been.

So I really loved public school.  I never would've learned half of what I know with just my parents teaching me.

I've always been at a private school. . . But now I want to be home schooled SO badly. I'm going through the worst time of my life with all those (sorry i have to use this word) idiots at school.
