  Well, y'all were talking about the cost of your instruments a little while back, and I thought I'd chime in on that.  My clarinet (a beginner's clarinet (ugh, I really wanna buy a new one, but they're so expensive!)) cost zero dollars to GET, but to fix it, it cost at least a hundred.  (My brother got it from a friend of his, and the instrument was completely broken.  Pads needed to be fixed, cord reapplied, keys fixed... a lot of work.)  But, hey, my brother did all the work (he was going through the phase of, "Hey, I wanna be an instrument repair man as my job!"), and he did a pretty good job for a beginner.  But, recently, things have been kinda dying, so I swapped out some of the parts of my brother's OTHER clarinet with mine, and now I call it a Frankenclarinet. 

. I'm looking for a new violin now and they're expensive also.

I'm not sure buying a Double Bass right now is even physically possible for me. They're quite expensive.
Just fixing the Bow (The thingy that you rub on the string to make noise) would cost 50 to 100 dollars.

My flute was about $300... which is quite expensive considering that it's just a piece of bamboo with holes in it! It's fancy bamboo, though.

Really? You wouldn't think it would need to be that expensive then again though, I don't know how much bamboo is worth.
