Speaking of poisoned apples, have you noticed that both of L.M. Mongomery's series (Emily of New Moon and Anne of Green Gables) have involved the main character eating an apple and then being told that it was poisoned when it wasn't? It makes a beast wonder if L.M. Montgomery had such an experience as a child.
