I am too busy to read the book, and I can't watch the movie because I havent read the book yet. Welcome to my world

I'm not allowed to watch the movies until I've read the books, so I've watched the Fellowship and no further. Watching the movies before reading the books is pure evil.

I actually don't think it's bad to see the movie first if you plan on reading the book afterwards.  This is because if you read the book first, you're going to be judging the movie the entire time being like "That part was different.  Why'd they remove this character?" and so on, but if you saw the movie first then none of that would be happening and you'd just be able to enjoy the movie without judging it to that extent.
