@danflorreguba, you can look at my below post from my ask thread regarding some games I've enjoyed over the years for an idea of the kind of games I play.  In general, though, as far as playing with other people, I tend to more enjoy coop games where it's PvE rather than PvP.  Also, I game on PC and Xbox, and am willing to try out games I haven't tried yet.

STILL.  Let's see...

Ok, I've broken this down into three sections: Friendly, The Middle, and Not So Friendly.  Friendly means that they're safe for everyone!  Middle means that there's some "bad" stuff in them, like somewhat more graphic violence, or some foul language, or just a general atmosphere that is creepy and not necessarily suitable for the young.  Not So Friendly is for games that have lots of graphic violence, or content not suitable for young'uns and the such. 

Now this is NOT a comprehensive list, just the stuff I could think of off the top of my head.  Also note, I listed these in absolutely no order, and was jumping back and forth in between sections while listing them out 


Friendly Games
I like Sonic and Sonic games in general
Back in the day I really liked Star Fox Adventures (though Star Fox fans didn't much care for it)
Back in the day I enjoyed Star Wars Rogue Squadron II
Undertale is a fantastic game
Portal and Portal II are pretty great
I really loved playing Phantasy Star Universe back in the day, and now I play Phantasy Star Online 2
Enslaved is, in my opinion, an underrated action adventure game.  I really enjoyed it.
I enjoyed Destiny 1 and 2 for awhile.  They're good games overall, I'm just not super into grinding all the time.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic I and II are classic Star Wars RPG's and are still great.
Really random, but Costume Quest 2 is SICK!  Haven't gotten to play the first one, sadly.
ABZU is a beautiful game where you swim around in a fanciful underwater environment and explore!
Strike Suit Zero isn't very well known, but it's a great arcade style spaceship/mech shooter.
LEGO Star Wars is just pure fun
The Earth Defense Force games are so stupid, I love them!  Save the world from giant bugs and aliens!  EDF!  EDF!
Valley is another not very well known game, but it's very pretty and you get to explore an abandoned valley and bring life back to it!
Legend of Zelda in general is fantastic, though I prefer the 3D ones personally.  I love Twilight Princess, and Breath of the Wild is simply incredible.
Of course Mario is Mario and those games are fun.  Of note are Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Odyssey.
LUIGI'S MANSION
The Metroid Prime series is an awesome Sci-Fi exploration set of games, and I'm looking forward to number 4
Of course, the Super Smash Bros. series is great


The Middle
I'm a big fan of the Halo series (they're FPS's (first person shooters) where you shoot aliens and save the universe, to put it basically)
Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are still great coop zombie shooters
Alice: Madness Returns is one of my favorite games.  It takes "Alice in Wonderland" and makes it REALLY creepy.  The art direction in it is pretty amazing.
Skyrim.  Ah, Skyrim.  Now firmly cemented as a classic, it's the go to for a fantasy style RPG nowadays.
Titanfall and Titanfall 2 are pretty interesting shooters with fun movement options and mechs!  What's not to like?
Mirror's Edge 1 and 2 are really fun, parkour based games.  Only reason it goes here is because violence, and I'm pretty sure there's cursing in them.
Oh man, I love Alan Wake.  It's about a Stephen King-esque writer who loses a week of memories, and all the things he wrote during that week start happening.  It's an awesome thriller/horror game.


Not So Friendly Games
Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Fallout 4 are all fun RPG's
Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide are... well, they're interesting zombie killing RPG's.  Fun to play with friends
Back in the day, I really liked the original Prey.  It did some really cool stuff with portals and teleporters.
Battlefield: Bad Company 1 and 2 were great offshoots of the Battlefield series,  Wish they'd make more of them.
The F.E.A.R. series is really cool, though it went downhill somewhat over time.  Still, I really like 'em.
Metro 2033, Metro Last Light, and Metro Exodus are all awesome games.  FPS set in a post apocalyptic Russia.
BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite are all pretty great.  They're odd, and creepy, but with outstanding settings and interesting artistic directions
The Far Cry series is very different now from how it started, but they're still all fun, well-made games.
The Mass Effect games are pretty awesome (excluding Andromeda).  Some of my favorite Sci-Fi RPG's ever.
The Resident Evil series is sort of a hit and miss, but when they hit, MAN do they hit.
The new Wolfenstein games are fun.  You shoot Nazis.  'Nuff said.
The Evil Within 1 is good, but The Evil Within 2 is GREAT.  Love that horror game.
Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide 1 and 2 are great coop hack'n'slash games where you cut through hordes of rats!
NieR:Automata is really something special.  I can't help but love it.
The Sniper Elite series is fun.  Getting to account for wind and gravity in your shots is quite entertaining.  Plus, the games are designed well.
On the heels of that, the Zombie Army games, a spinoff series of Sniper Elite where Hitler raises the dead, are loads of fun.
