I suppose my username is Booklover, so I can't really complain.

But the automatic assumption (except when it's a relative saying it, or when it's referring to an object) is that it's romantic.

Still, romantic love can mean so many things in today's day and age. I don't think deep and sincere affection comes at first sight, but a great interest and pleasure in something definitely can. There are also less wholesome feelings that get called love, like lust. That can definitely happen at first sight.
