I won't need to feed it because it obviously eats happiness.

When one is asleep, it stands over their bed and puts the sleeper into a state of temporary unresponsiveness. Once the action is complete, it will move foreward, though silently, and with near snakelike movements, until it can touch its sleeping victim.
It will then reach out and place a damp paw over the organism's heart. This allows for the happiness and good dreams of "the sleeper" to be transported into the animal's lungs, where it stores them for energy.
