Who is your favorite Villain?

Silvamord was weird. I loved the "Dystfunctional Vermin Families" Mossflower talk episode, though. It was funny how she ticked off Urgan.

I also love how in Ask Slagar, then Slagar the Cruel is making fun of Urgan. He says. "Then there's this fox who finds a dead, frozen wolf in the woods, so he wears it's pelt and calls himself Urgaan Nagru, saying 'My name's Urgan Nagru! That means I can attack you from forwards or backwards! Oooh!' I mean, come on, my name's Slagar, but that doesn't mean I will attack you from behind a slag heap shouting 'arrr'. What a dork."

Or something along those lines.  

Heehee. Love that part.

How do you imagine Slagar's voice, Nightfire?

I usually imagine him with a batman-ish type voice.
No idea why, though!

Oh. O.K. His voice in the show is...I don't know how do describe it...so UNraspy, like they say it is in the book. Ah, well. I like it anyway.

I love Gulo. Did you know that Gulo Gulo is the scientific name for a wolverine, and it means gluttonous glutton? This means Gulo the savage means glutton the savage!

Wow, a lot of people like Cluny and Slagar.  I used to like them mroe before I saw the tv shows with them.  Personally, my favorites are ~Trauman Clogg

~Badrang
~Razzid Wearet
~The Marlfoxes

Until his death (which was cowardly), I liked Badrang the best. He was a little cocky, but not over full of himself. He also was a pretty smart general

I too, thought a lot more of Slagar before I saw his cartoon. Tehey made him look like a fox that was trying to be a clown. So idiotic!

Cluny was actually pretty scary in the cartoon, though, as was Asmodeus. Of course, I last saw the Redwall cartoon when I was ten, and I'm fourteen now, so I don't remember it that well. I'll have to watch it again to refresh my memory. 

I personally liked Clogg. He was the first villian for me that was...likeable, despite his obvious evil nature.

Me too!  Clogg has something of a likeable personality, somewhat like Barranca in Pearls of Lutra.  He doesn't seem quite as bloodthirsty as some of the others, probably because while we know of his fearsome reputation we never actually see him kill anyone.  The whole Badrang/Clogg power struggle made the book quite interesting.  His crew seemed to have not only a healthy respect for him, but actually liked him a bit. Personally, I wouldn't bother rewatching the shows.  I think the only good one was the version of Martin the Warrior (larrgely because of Clogg and Martin and Rose).  Redwall and Mattimeo didn't impress me at all.  I mean, my brother watched them shortly after he turned 5.  To me, Redwall should be a bit too serious and scary for a 5 year old.   In Redwall, I really don't like Abbot Mortimer's attitude.  He will only permit Redwall to defend itself, which eliminates their best option for defeating Cluny.   He frustrated me.

I really liked Plugg Firetail. He was funny, and his crew really actually liked him, which is pretty much a first. Maybe it's just because I like foxes so much...

It was kinda weird how he shampooed and brushed his tail though. What kind of vicious freebooter regularly showers?

Actually, several of the major sea-faring vermin took some pride in their appearance.

For instance, Gabool the Wild: while he didn't necessarily do so all the way through Mariel of Redwall, this is noted as being unusual by the sea rats who observe him -- they note that he's running around his fortress like a "tramp", which was said not to be "his way".

Also, Ublaz Mad Eyes: a retired corsair, Ublaz still obviously took very much interest in fashion and personal appearance. He spent the entire book obsessing over pearls he intended to put in his crown, after all. Nevertheless he was still a ruthless vermin leader, and at one time was a highly skilled captain.

There's also Vilu Daskar, the cowardly pirate stoat, who had similar pretensions... finally, although he isn't exactly a major villain, Zigu also took interest in style.

So that's four major, recognizable pirate leaders before Plugg Firetail that took some regard as to their hygiene and appearance at some point in time. It's more common than one would think.
