Anyone else a fan of Brett McKenzie and Jemaine Clement? I love these guys, both their live comedy and their television show.  In case you haven't heard of them, they're a comedy music folk duo from New Zealand.  I think they're hilarious, they do parody type songs with really witty lyrics and have great comic delivery.

Ha, what a coincidence, I just listened to Bowie. It doesn't matter how many times I've heard their songs, I still crack up whenever I hear them. I especially love when they make fun of Australians in their TV show 'cause I'm Australian and for some reason I think Australia jokes are funny.

Flandor

Haha yay, another fan :) we just watched the one with the racist fruit vendor who won't sell then fruit because he thinks they're Aussies.  Bowie is another good one though.  I think my favorite episode is when they do the Simon and Garfunkel impersonations, or the one where Jemaine is a prostitute.

Oh, that's from Prime Minister, right? I love this bit:

So accurate, not just for Korean karaoke videos but for EVERY SINGLE karaoke video. If you sing foreign songs at the karaoke place I frequent the videos are of scenes from American cities in the 1990's or something. :D

Now I'm listening to Robots. "Binary solo 0000001 00000011 000000111 0000001111 0000001 00000011 000000111"

Flandor

Hahaha I love the binary solo! And that karaoke song, it cracks me right up.  Ooh and Brett's Angry Dance! Lol!

"In the future, there is only one kind of dance: the robot.  And also, the robo-boogie.  Ah, yes, the robo-boogie."

I shouldn't watch Flight of the Conchords videos in the staff room, I just snorted into my hand from laughing. Luckily, there aren't that many people in here.

"I'm not cryin'. It's just been rainin'... on my face."

Flandor

Haha that's a good one too.  I'd post Sugar Lumps but I don't believe it's forum appropriate XD

This is such a great parody of dancing movies, it makes me cry laughing.

Tumblr has the best GIFs. I think this one sums up these guys pretty well:

Flandor

Lol, that GIF is fabulous.  I see we seem to be alone in our enjoyment of these guys, though.

Not true!

I'm a fan of some of their stuff. "The Humans Are Dead" (I just poked one, it was dead), "Frodo, Don't Wear the Ring" and that one with the Hip-hopapotamus (forgot what it's called). Haven't seen much of the TV Show (not entirely appropriate ;)), but their songs are pretty good. Guess I'll have to search them up a bit more. I'm interested in their Simon & Garfunkel impersonations. :)

Did you know Bret actually made an appearance in the "LOTR" films? His appearance has caused quite the online sensation.

Ah, yeah I suppose there's a few more "adult" topics in the television show.  Never really paid that much mind.  But the Simon and Garfunkel bit is awesome :)

Frodo, Don't Wear the Ring is wonderfully bizarre XD I didn't know Brett was in LotR! That's awesome.

Ahhhh yes, Figwit... apparently he's going to be in The Hobbit too!

Something Horrifying

YES! Haha, Flandor, this is so funny, because I kept meaning to ask if you were a fan and forgetting! XD

I love FotC. The first I ever saw of them was before the show, just a comedy special with them on stage doing a few songs. "Jenny" was the first song, and had me in stitches right away. I still haven't seen all of the show, but the episodes I have seen were excellent.

I've been watching some more of them recently. They're hilarious! "Jenny" remains my favourite, but "Feel Inside (And Stuff Like That) is also brilliant. "Albi the Racist Dragon" is also good, and "Mermaids" and "Issues". What else is there... The Simon & Garfunkel impersonation is pretty good, and I love the racist fruit seller who confuses them for Australians. I haven't seen a full episode yet, only snippets of the show. Still, they're quite funny. Also love their "Simpsons" appearance.
