Lizard sort of thingy

OK, So in season 2 (mattimeo) of the show (i forget which episode) there was some kind of lizard creature thing that tricked Matti and all the other slave children into losing the only possesions that reminded them of home. It was really ugly and yellowish and made some really bad poetry. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? This was driving me crazy all day, I cant remember what he/she was.

In the book, Scurl Droptail was a crested newt. In the television series, it looked more like a frilled-neck lizard.

I think kids stood a better chance of recognizing a frilled lizard versus this guy (the great crested newt).
