People say that you shouldn't know much about Undertale before you start playing.

  Yeah, but jacksepticeye was playing it and at the time I didn't think I ever would (I'm not known for getting games very often, and when I do, it's usually games my brother's bought and I've just played when he got bored of them), so I watched both of his playthroughs.  Now I'm playing it to see some other endings and to actually play it for myself, because let's be honest, that game is way more fun when you're the one controlling the little Simpson.  (Wanna guess what I named them?  It's not very hard...  )

Actually, some of the main sources of discord were encroachment upon Native American land by settlers, religious issues with the many sects of religions and beliefs in the new land, and spats within their own settlements. I could list off some more.
