I submitted a drawing that I did online for a drawing contest, on ratemydrawings.com. Tell me what you think of it. It's a young male sea otter with a clam.  It was my first time, so not a lot of effect is added, but I tried to get the water and plants realistic looking.

here it is: http://www.ratemydrawings.com/drawings/under-the-sea/892848.html

Did you use MS Paint for this?  If you have anything else that can soften the edges of the drawing I think that would help a lot. ;)

No. How can I soften the edges?

What did you use?  More advanced programs have filters you can apply.  I'm no expert in art programs on the computers, but using a softer line when drawing would likely make it even better.

I used a canvas with Java Advanced. I had to download Java to do it.

Hmm...never used a java program for anything like that before.  You'll have to play around with it and see if it offers a soft edge tool.
