I voted for Riggu but he would be closely followed by Ungatt and Verdauga.

My reasoning is that although Ungatt had a bigger army, Riggu's army was comprised entirely of wildcats which are more vicious than Ungatt's horde could possibly be. Before people use the "Ungatt captured Salamandastron" card, may I point out that he was facing about 150 old hares with thousands of battle trained vermin. I like Verdauga because he was sort of the only kind Vermin warlord, although he was a tyrant he was fair and the creatures he opressed only left after he became ill and Tsarmina took over, then she had him killed which pretty much got rid of any chance of a fair vermin ruler in the entire series.

I would have chosen Mortspear because he would have had to control both Ungatt and Verdauga and that must've been pretty hard. I didn't choose him because we know next to nothing about him. 

Riggu Felis's army were Feral Cats, not Wildcats. Also, most of the Cats in Riggu's army were pretty cowardly. And he only had 200 soldiers, compaired to Ungatt's army of about 7500. So, if Riggu Felis and Ungatt Trunn were pitted against each other, Ungatt Trunn would be the definite winner.

I've never understood how Ungatt got such a big horde. The only thing that made Ungatt such an amazing conqueror was his horde. On a related note where did you get the numbers from? I know for a fact that the accurate numbers of Trunn's horde are never even estimated as I have just read Lord Brocktree again.

Riggu and Ungatt were fairly even if you ask me, they were both heartlessly cruel, and powerful warriors, their hordes don't count!

BTW Riggu's horde had far more courage than the whimpering rats that Ungatt had, and as Jeth pointed out, the numbers were never estimated.

To answer Jeth's question: Ungatt Trunn got his horde from his father, King Mortspear, and then just added on to it.

I was just pointing out the facts! Riggu's army WERE pretty cowerdly. Probubly even more than Ungatt's hord. In Ungatt's hord, the vermin in his army wern't afraid to have a fair fight. Unlike Riggu's hord, were every soldier was trying to stay at the back of the battle (and don't say that Ungatt's hord were threatened with death if they didn't fight like real fighters should. Riggu could have threatened just the same way) . And the Rats and other vermin in Ungatt's hord wern't nearly as wimperly as Riggu's hord. And I think that my estimation about how many soldiers Ungatt Trunn had are pretty acurate. It's a simple matter of math: According to Lord Brocktree, Ungatt Trunn had at least two dozen ships full of vermin. Each ship must have had about 300 vermin in each ship. So, if you multiplied each vermin group with each ship, that would land you around 7000-8000 vermin soldiers. So my guess wasn't that unacurate after all. And about army's not counting about who was the better Cat: It isn't just about how great a Warlord you are to make you better than another Warlord: It's also about the control and influence you have on other creatures. And, Ungatt Trunn must have had the better influence on the creatures under his command. He had the influenceof a great Warlord. He established himself as a very fearful beast among his hord, showing how his hord was never afraid to have a fair fight with the enimy. But in Riggu Felis's hord, he didn't establish himself that well with his hord. He established himself as a ruler too feared, which is probubly the reason why he didn't score that much againsed theOtters on Green Isle. When establishing yourself as a Warlord over your hord (at least on the evil side), you must also establish yourself as a person to reward for bravery and other stuff like that. That's something that Ungatt Trunn did   well, and something that Riggu Felis did not-so well. And when I was telling about the two Wildcat's hord, I was just trying to say in a different way what I said there.

They wern't just fishing boats; they were full-sized battle boats according to Lord Brocktree. If they were fishing boats, Ungatt's hord would be pretty tiny. And, in the book, Ungatt Trunn had probubly the biggest hord in the Redwall series.

Because that's exactly what you said in your post, and that would define you as somewhat of a hypocrite. And the who says the boats were all full? Some of the boats were almost certainly inside of larger carry ships, cargo and ballast space is needed. Even on very large ships you don't generally get more than 100 on (in that day and age).

When I was talking about Riggu's army being cowerdly, I was talking aboutFeralCats, not Wildcats. Riggu said himself how cowerdly and wimpy the Feralcats were, though he might have just said that when he was mad at his army. I like Wildcats, not Feral Cats.
