Light... Then pain... What had happened? Blank was all that formed the mind, then, the club of the massive hedgehog flew back into his memory. He had been hit, and he fell on rocks, losing consciousness. He looked up at the mouse standing a few feet away from him, and noticed anger and fear mingled together in her eyes; perhaps it was but his sight that failed him, but he was sure he could use that to his advantage.

Standing up, he took in his surroundings, and saw salty marshes, dotted with gnarled and rotting trees, along with bushes and other tough plants who could survive in the salt and cold of the marshes. On the other side, the sea: it appeared as a glorious sight, for the dying son had let its warm rays illuminate the choppy waves.  On both sides, the fight was at its peak, as creatures of both armies battled for freedom or plunder.

As he looked back, a few drops of rain fell in his eyes, clouding his vision slightly. Unstrapping his crossbow, he slowly pulled the rope up to the stopper, and put a bolt on the body of the weapon. Taking aim, he fired with lighting speed at Frost's abdomen, thus hoping to reduce his foe to helplessness.

Frost was setting on a rock by the shore when the arrow came whizzing towards her. She tried to dodge it, but it nicked her on her right foreleg. Stumbling, she grabbed her shortsword and strode confidentily over to Gavin. The noise was deafening from the other contestents of the Swords of Freedom contest, but she toned out of it and tried to concentrate. Knowing she had to hurry, she made her move. She did a neat twist with her sword and feinted towards Gavin's neck, and then swung at his footpaw with whizzing speed.

OOC: Nice!  :D

BIC: Gavin-Asher dodged as the blade went towards his neck, but didn't have time to dodge the blow at his hindpaw, which cut one of his toes. He screeched as a pang of pain swept over his leg, making him limp. Grabbing his war-hammer, he swung with surprising speed at her right leg, and at the last moment, turning the head around, trying to strike at her side with the spike.

Frost jumped back as the hammer nicked her hip. She was surprised at the blow, but she kept her countenance calm and fierce. Gavin started to advance on her his hammer whizzing in the air. Frost saw that she was too close to fire a dart, so she kept hold of her sword, and started retaliating fiercely the wind whipping her dress like a flag behind her.

Seeing an opportunity she swung her short sword at Gavin's hurt legat the same time drawing a dart from her pouch with her free paw and flung it point first in Gavin's face, hoping for a hit

Ooc: Thanks

Seeing the blow coming towards his leg, he jumped sideways, thus evading the dart he hadn't seen. By turning sideways, he also whipped his hammer at her exposed side, hoping to crack her ribs and knock the breath out of her. As the blow came near the target, sweat dripped from his brow, splashing Frost. The pain in his leg was becoming intolerable as his paw hit the water.

Dannflor

Frost jumped back as the hammer swung towards her. She ran back then charged and whipped her blade at his wounded leg. The pain in her hip was worse than before, but she tried not to show it.

As the blade came near his leg, his knee suddenly blocked, making him fall to the ground, and, at the same time saving him from further pain. Gasher rolled over and jumped upright, leaning his weight on his good leg so as not to fall down again. He slipped out his baselard and feigned a fall and quickly twisted over and hoping to bury the blade into her neck.

Dannflor

Frost saw the blade coming and tried to block it, She twisted her sword upright to stop it but only managed to stop it part way. It scratched her neck blood welling up. She hid her shock well and charged Gavin trying to chop off his head.

He ducked, and felt the blade cut hairs from his head. Still ducking, he thrust his front paws hard at her gut, with the baselard held point first. As the blade whizzed towards her, the seconds seemed to be minutes, he felt big drops of sweat trickle down his neck, cooling off his hot skin. The various injuries he had got made him suffer terribly, pushing him to finish the battle as quickly as possible, while still staying careful.

Dannflor

Frost charged hoping to catch him by surprize but missed. She ducked a blow that was coming at her head but triped on a rock, she fell over banging her head against a rock. everything went blank for a second.

Recovering from the sudden surprise of a charge and fall from his foe, he grabbed his war-hammer and aimed a blow at the back of her skull.

(OOC: Sorry for short post, nothing much to add.)
