Was Martin's tomb in the original Redwall Abbey plans.
Never trust a smiling pirate.  :D

I can do that because I'm awesome.

"It really gets up my nose when publishers call my book another Lord of the Rings. It's my bloody book! I wrote it. And another thing, I didn't have to plunder Norse and European mythology to do it!" - Brian Jacques.

Redwaller

Probably not. moles must have prepared it after his death.

VedCassib

I think it must have been. I've always had the impression that Martin made (or at least had a hand in making) the riddles that Matthias solves. Because all of the riddles fit together so well, I think Martin helped to design his tomb and requested to be buried there. We know there must have been some planning for the riddles as the abbey was constructed because Martin's shield, which was found in his tomb, fit perfectly into the abbey wall.

Shadowed One

I always thought that Martin secretly made the riddles, and because of that, he told the moles where he wanted his tomb.
Martin the Warrior is way more epic than Mickey Mouse. Anyone who says otherwise is insane, or just wrong.

Abbes Germain also had a tomb built for her, though it wasn't found until Mattimeo.

Life is too short to rush through it.

Kitsune

Based on the facts, it would have been way easier to have it built with Redwall, instead of just trying to dig a hole under the steps.

Redwaller

Then it must have been kept extremely secret.

But why would they keep it a secret?

Life is too short to rush through it.

Redwaller

Dunno. Maybe because then there wouldn't have been any riddles.

phoenixfoden

It could have been a simple cellar but it was scrapped halfway through the build and closed up and later used as martins tomb.

that a good point  8)

Tam and Martin

I think Martin planned his tomb then someone found the plans and asked someone (probably moles) to dig the grave.

They told me I was gullible. I believed them.

It is well known that 47% of statistics are made up on the spot.

I used to leave out half my sentances, but now I

-Sometime later, the second mate was unexpectedly rescued by the subplot, which had been trailing a bit behind the boat (and the plot). The whole story moved along.
