Anyone here a fan of warrior cats?
Doctor Who is epic, so is Sherlock. And many other fandoms, but there's not enough room to list them all in my signature!

There is most likely already a topic for this, but whatever.

I haven't read warrior cats, because my library doesn't have the first book, but one of my friends is huge fan of it and really wants me to read it.

They're a good series, I've read all the main series ones(yup, all 25!)and most of the special edition.

What are they abut I know that their about cats but what's the basic story line

Dag Downyfur

Well there are lots of different plots but the first six books are basically about a pet cat named Rusty who joins a Clan of wild cats, and discovers a conspiracy against the Clan's leader and a prophecy and stuff. LOL I'm pretty bad at explaining, it might be better to look it up.

Yeah, it's really interesting!  I've read all of the series, including The Sun Trail, but I'd say my favourite series was the first.  I also enjoyed the Super Editions, including Yellowfang's Secret.  That was probably one of my favourites, but every one of them has made me cry.  Yellowfang's Secret made me cry twice as much as any of the others.  ::)

I love the Warriors series. I've read all the major books and all super editions except Tallstar's Revenge.

-Sometime later, the second mate was unexpectedly rescued by the subplot, which had been trailing a bit behind the boat (and the plot). The whole story moved along.

Yeah, we had a thread but it's been several months.

I'm kind of a big-name fan, pretty well known on some of the biggest sites, because of my love for the series (I've been a fan for 9 years now, ever since book 4 was the newest) and because I'm essentially a walking dictionary on the books and authors.  xD

Basically my opinion is that while the writing quality improves, the plot goes downhill (starting mid-3rd-series and most of the 4th series).  Mostly because they changed their minds about a major plot point halfway through series 3 and it affected the story in a big way, just dragging it out more.  But so far there's one book out in the 5th series - a prequel series - and that's been pretty well received by fans.  I personally thought it was the best main-series book in years.

My sister is obsessed with Warrior Cats and I think she's on the second Omen of the Stars. I read about nine books and then I quit reading because she told me a couple things about the 'three' that I hated. Let's just say I ONLY support Crowfeather and Feathertail as a pairing, nobody else with Crowfeather, thank you. OK, rant over. It was an okay series, but the more I hear the more messed up it seems to me. Mainly everything to do with Crowfeather is messed up. The first series was great, though!

Yeah, I felt kinda that way, but I stuck with the series because I desperately wanted to finish it.  ;)  The fifth series, Dawn of the Clans, is really great, though.  At least, in my opinion.  I liked how they took the whole 'magical' concept out, at least sort of.  It was more like the first series than the other ones.

I actually think Yellowfang's Secret is my least favorite of the SEs.

First off, we already knew exactly what happened in her life, so almost nothing in the book was new, and that already made it less interesting.  What was "new", was something they just added for the book itself (like Yellowfang feeling other cats' pain.  Does she *need* to have a power or a prophecy about her in order to be interesting?)  Raggedstar was an emotionally abusive jerk that she should have left, and even if she HAD to stay with him she could have - she only became a medicine cat because she feels other cats' pain, and later conveniently learns how to supress it (making it kind of pointless to give her that power to begin with).  Apart from the timeline being inconsistent (the scene where she meets Firepaw takes place in spring here, while it's nearly fall in Into the Wild), it didn't really fit with her personality.

Try the Super Editions, if you haven't.  They're mostly pretty good, and you only have to read as far as the first series to understand them.
