Dunno if there's already a topic for this, but I don't think so.  Anyway, Assassin's Creed!  :D  Who here has played this game?  I'm currently awaiting my turn to play the new 'un (Black Flag), 'cause it's technically my brother's game and he doesn't want to give it up (he just tried it this morning).  It looks super fun, and currently I'm listening to the soundtrack, which is awesome, by the way.  ;)

I've never played it before...is it like a war game?

Life is too short to rush through it.

(I actually haven't played it either, but...)  I believe it's not a war game, more of stealth.  I haven't seen the first three games, but from what I've seen of Black Flag (the fourth), you have quests to go kill, extract info, save people, etc.  Black Flag is a pirate-themed one, and I know there's also a Civil War themed one (which is why I'm not totally sure if it's a war game or not), but I'm not completely sure as to what the other two are.  All I know is Black Flag, 'cause I watched my brother play it this morning and hopefully I'll be playing it later on today.  ;)  (The awesome thing about Black Flag is that you get to captain your own ship.  :D)

I've played a mobile version which was pretty awesome. That was based off the first Assassin. Yeah, AC4 looks pretty cool. You can play as the other crew members can't you?
They told me I was gullible. I believed them.

Hmm, I believe my brother got the PC version for 50 dollars, but he pre-ordered, so now I think it's 60+ dollars.  In America, at least.

Not quite sure, as I've said, I haven't actually gotten a chance to play it, all I know is that in the beginning you commandeer a ship, immediately becoming captain.  It would make sense that you could be other crewmembers, but I'm not 100% sure.

Isn't Assassin's Creed rated M or something?

You can check on Amazon or something.

I own the first two - got them for $5 each during the Steam summer sale.

The first game was terribly repetitive and dull.  The ending bit was exciting, but it was difficult getting that far just because most of the game was so boring.  At least it wasn't long, only about 20 hours.    The second one, I'm really enjoying.  Ezio is a far more interesting protagonist, the plot is more compelling, the quests are more varied and interesting, and 15th(?)-century Italy is gorgeous.

Like Rainshadow said, it's more of a stealth game.   The plot plays on historical conspiracy theories - namely, that in the game world there's this group called the Assassins that has faced off with the Knights Templar throughout the centuries, so you play as various Assassins in different time periods.

This is the video that got me interested in the game (this guy just writes songs based on various video games):

A lot of people don't the the pirate-slash-Assassins works. I personally love the mix though.  :D

Wait, which AC was that in the video?  I know it probably wasn't the first, 'cause I watched a friend play that yesterday, and the clothes didn't look right.  It's also not the fourth, 'cause again, the clothes aren't right.

And as for the stealth part of the game, yesterday I was trying to sneak into an enemy fort, and one of the side objectives you could do was sneak in and steal the thing you needed without killing anyone.  Haha, missed that one by a long shot!  I actually had to dive into the bay from the fort... twice.  The first time was before I stole my stuff, 'cause I had half a bar of health left, and the second was 'cause I didn't wanna try and sneak back out of the fort.  :P  You could say I ain't the stealthiest person.  ;)
