The Dragon of Kigen Mountain

OOC: As far as I know, they haven't started off yet.

OOC: Yeah they're walking and talking at the same time

"Chisana-Risu" Shoshin corrected "and yes we are warriors, I'm considered to be one of the best warriors in all of Hakaan according to Mananda the wise and who argues with the new most senior sensei in the country (bless Atsui's grave)."

Brakinata started slowly and stealthily following them. She wondered what exactly they were talking about, since she wasn't very up to date. She ducked behind a bush, peeked over the top, and realized she had gotten too close to them! Ah nuts! She thought, debating the pros and cons of showing herself to them. Nah, I'll follow a bit longer first. If they seem to be decent beasts I'll show myself. Then she noticed the bush had berries! She LOVED berries. AND she hadn't eaten in a while, she started munching while she waited for them to draw ahead.

OOC: It's fine! Okay, no one's posting, I'll give them something to post about!

BIC: Brakinata suddenly lost her balance reaching for a berry. She squeaked, tumbling head over paws and landing with a Bump! She hardly dared to look up. She was afraid to. What if they were mercenaries on a job, and they didn't want to be seen, so they killed her so she wouldn't tell? Thoughts like that chased each other in her head, around and around and around. She decided the best thing to do would be to curl up in a ball for now.

Shoshin was interrupted by a tiger falling at his feet, the tiger curled into a ball in fright now there's something you don't see everyday he thought. Shoshin turned to the red panda "Hold on a minute Si, can I call you Si?" without waiting for an answer he crouched down and tapped the tiger on the shoulder "Do not be afraid, my name is Shoshin and this is Si-Qon, we will not hurt you. Am I correct in assuming that you are one of the Taiowen?"

She nodded, not anymore. Still to scared to speak, or do anything except nod. So, she nodded, it was a little hard to tell she did, since she was squeezed in the tightest possible ball she could. She considered using the dagger she'd brought with her, (Even though she'd technically stolen it from her mother; but since she had already been dead, she figured Why not?) but she didn't really want to. Besides, he'd said he wouldn't hurt her,and figured she might as well trust that. And she could still threat him with it if she had to, and  she had her bow. She'd just made some new arrows, after all.

Shoshin recognized the tiger's movement for what it was, a nod "So you are one of the Taiowen? What's your name and where are the rest of your tribe? The Taiowen are a large familial group, there should be others with you" he extended his hand to the cowering tiger "Come on, get up, I will not hurt you, our tribes are friends"

[Cornflower MM]

Brakinata slowly stood up. "I am not with the Taiowen anymore; They didn't understand me and my needs as an orphan. So I left. Who are you and where are you going?" Brakinata ignored all contact with him, as she still didn't really know if he was trustworthy or not. Who could blame her? she figured. The Tribe didn't exactly train her to be warm and fuzzy, not after her mother died. She decided to keep her paw near the dagger hilt, never mind the fact that she didn't know how to use it.

Shoshin bowed "As I said before, I am Shoshin, patriarch of the Chisana-Risu and this is Si-Qon, formerly of the Sheng Xiu. We are on a quest to Kigen Mountain to discover why the great dragon has not been protecting us from the gaijin attacks"

[Cornflower MM]

"I'm sorry to have interrupted you, then. I'll let you go about your business. I have business of my own: Finding a place to spend the week or so. One more thing; Has there been any Taiowen scouts about?" Brakinata asked, trying her hardest to sound casual. She wondered if the bit about finding a place to stay might make this Shoshin sympathetic, and therefore offer to take her along.

[The Shade]

Now it was Sie-Qon who answered the tiger.

"Ahh, you see them once in a while. Finding a place to spend a week or so? Where would you go after that?" he asked. The red panda was intrigued.

OOC: Agh, really sorry about this short post, I'm running low on time at the minute.

"Somewhere else. If the Taiowen didn't find me. What concern is it of yours?" Brakinata asked, turning to walk up the slope, her mind whirling. The panda: Intrigued. He might be a softy. You never could tell with those pandas. Shoshin, well, he probably couldn't really care less. He'd probably tell the next scout they met up with her. Ah, well. Maybe the panda would invite her to go with them. She mused, thinking about why it was so hard for her as orphan anyway. It wasn't like she was a healer too, lke her mother. Sure, she'd strated her training, but then she cut herself making dinner. That was the first hngry night.

[The Shade]

"Ahh well, you see, I detect a restless soul within you. I didn't hiding away in some settlement would be the action of a beast like you." Si said. "If you really didn't want the Taiowen after your tail, I might be of assistance," he said, a slight grin on his face. "How would you feel about traveling with the likes of us?"

The red panda's only concern was that he hoped Shoshin wouldn't mind. But the Japanese squirrel didn't strike him as the sort of fussy character.

The problem with Shoshin was not that he didn't care as Brakinata believed but that he was oblivious to her desires, when Si-Qon made the suggestion he was a little surprised but he accepted it readily enough "Why not, I doubt very much that we'll be able to contend with the mountain tribes on our own, a third pair of paws would help. Now could we stop dilly-dallying around here and get moving? Abada won't be abandoning their attack any time soon" with that he set off walking at a brisk pace
