I just finished Outcast of Redwall and at the very end when the Badger Lord and his Mother saw each for the first I almost started to cry that was a very touching moment in the Redwall series. I was woundering if anyone else felt the same way as I did when I was reading it.

I felt is was pretty good that they met each other. I was especially happy for Sunflash- Going all those years without really knowing his mother then finally being able to. I didn't find it a lot like a touching moment probably because I never really liked Bella.

You know, I think that scene was one of several moments in OoR that was thoroughly overshadowed by Veil and his death. I was still trying to figure out the whole Veil and Bryony thing when I first read through that and it just didn't have the impact I think it would have otherwise.

It was a great scene, though. Imagine meeting your son for the first time since he disappeared as a young un, now a mighty badgerlord. That's like two happy surprises in one! ("Hi, mom, look at me, I'm alive and I missed you! And I have a PhD in neuroscience! And I'm a famous surgeon! Surprise!") I would have liked to see some motherly/son moments between them while they caught up on each other's lives a little later in the Abbey. I can imagine Bella telling her son about Martin at bedtime as if he were still a dibbun. <3

Yeah though I never liked Veil that much o I didn't find it amazing. I though he got what he deserved.

Ohoho I was starting to think I was the only one who thought that.

But we need to stay on topic, 'kay? There are several Veil topics in the Character Discussion board if y'all want to discuss him. :)

Ah, the outcast of redwall was a great one. It really gave us insight to the whole "what if there was a vermin brought up good?" Debacle. Anyway I found that scene in particular was very moving, I nearly cried and that's saying a lot! Lol
