That's a question I want answers for. What is an Airbenders special technique with their abilities? For Waterbenders, it's Bloodbending, Earthbenders, it's Sandbending and Metalbending, and Firebenders, it's lightning. Is an Airbenders special ability flying? Or something else?

Well, from looking at the Avatar Wiki, the main sub-skill of Air-bending so far is Astral Projection, the thing that Jinora first used during Harmonic Convergence and again when she was looking for Kai when he had been captured by the Dai Li. But the Wiki also says that Air-bending is the only bending art that doesn't have a specialized technique, while the others have two or more each.

Water-bending: Healing and Blood-bending
Earth-bending: Seismic sense, Metal-bending (Sand-bending isn't part of the Wiki's list)
Fire-bending: Combustion, Lightning generation, and Lightning redirection.
