My otaku friend just shouted at me because I said I preferred Free! to Attack on Titan. It's not really a big deal, Free! is just more my kind of thing. Also the main protagonist of Attack on Titan has no character development whatsoever. Also I think the medium of anime lends itself more to real life situations than it does fantasy
